Zidane is OP?

So most of the time when I fight people on adhoc with Zidane they complain about how hes too fast, Swift attack is cheap, free energy is cheap, etc and that Zidane is OP. He might be one of the top tier characters but saying hes OP is just going too far. Hes a character in the game, and they need to get used to it and stop complaining. Does anyone else think he's OP?

OP = Overpowered.

Zidane can feel cheap if all you do is spam Quick Strike and Free Energy, especially if you're playing with equips and use an EX Depletion build, although he is far from being overpowered. But because of his predictable patterns, it becomes possible for the other player to anticipate his next move, and then punish/guard him.

Short answer: NO!

Long Answer: Even a "safe Zidane"(a.k.a. Swift Attack-Shift Break-Free Energy) leaves gaps that can be punished. The problem is that someone who knows how to handle him will require more skill and a change of mentality that most players are not prepared for. It´s undeniable that Zidane wins a lot, he has the tools for some major pwnage. But he also has weaknesses that can be explored by almost any other character in the game in each and every attack of his. It´s only a matter of knowing him and, mostly, your character when fighting him.

Well probably your just one of those people that hate fighting Zidane, I don't consider any character overpowered since they all have their specialties.
Seriosly Free Energy is definatly not cheap it's one of the easiest moves i know that could be punished, depending on your main. Who do you main anyways?, I think your secondary should deal with characters you don't like fighting against.

I've faced plenty of Zidane's but have yet to feel cornered. Maybe it's because I'm using just about the only one matching and maybe even succeeding his speed, Onion Knight?

Zidane is fast, but there are ways other characters can be just as fast, if not faster. I'd say Tidus might be a little more OP, due to Hop Step (I think?) Fast, and powerful, but even then, it's balanced out by the fact his HP links mostly suck compared to others.

Strongly agree to this! Zidane is not Op because he's a frequent danger to break status. and does not deal that much BRV damage compared to sephiroth and squall. And he doesn't have that good prformance in the ground department. So conclusion... OP? Nah... Never! Even if he is my main, he is not OP. People who complain just cannot handle the mindgames that they are facing when battling against zidane playrs with swift attack, free energy, grand lethal, and Shift Break.
