Try a softer smudge, turn down the strength? I haven't used GIMP in a very long time so I wouldn't know how to do that anymore D:

Don't want to sound rude, but you might want to redo that signature, its "literally" hard to look at it because of the contrast and and the color of everything, my eyes start focusing and hurting looking at it :S

I stated in other guides, try finding some tutorials on how to blend in different effects to get a better finish on your signature.
