Best (pos. stupidest) moments in FF8

FF8 is famous for it's story. What it's also famous for is it's sheer awful moments within the story. So guys what do you think was the best or possibly stupidest moments in the game.

Adell gets trapped into a cryogenic freezer with an obviously fake holographic Ellone Clone, and firing her into space. Obvious fake, because 1) there was a giant machine and enclosed walls within the cell 2) I don't think even Esthar could have made a machine that could make a sophisticated fully rendered copy of Ellone in secret since Adell is both a giant and was in complete control of Esthar at the time. 3) This was a plan devised by Laguna, a man with fewer braincells than a gold fish.

Not to mention the short sightedness of the plan of firing her into the sun, considering everyone wanted her to die.


Ironically the best and stupidest actual comes in the form of the Last Disk as a whole when they basically create the same situation of Garland's immortality plan and makes it work. Not to mention that we're somehow lead to believe that Squall and the others survived a universal space-time implosion/explosion through the power of love and friendship :3

[K´Genesis]

Best - "Go talk to a wall" & Squall breaking into Galbadia Garden during the battle of the Gardens. Pure badassness.

Worst - Seifer FISHING at the end of the game. Really...that was NOT was I was expecting for him when I thought of him coming to a resolve with himself.

Actually, the whole love and friendship thing was "believe that your friends exist, and they will believe in you," which is more a philosophical take on some physics.

"I think, therefore I am."

If there was the threat of your existence being snuffed out while traveling through Time Compression, you'd want people to think of you, allowing their thoughts to act as the antithesis of your disappearance.

Anyway...

Best - Squall moving across space and time to save the girl he loves. I think at first he was doing it because of his mission, but ended up fighting because if Ultimecia wasn't taken care of, he would have to kill his one true love.

Worst - "Set the missile's Error Ratio"

Best: Errrrr............ I love FFVIII in general?

Worst: Orphanage Scene. Worst, Plot, Twist, Ever. I know that doesn't make grammatical sense, but it's the emphisis on how MUCH I hate that.

Best: The last hour or so of disk 1.

Worst: The parts where you control Laguna :\ I like Laguna as a character, but those parts of the game just bored me.

Best: When I've finally card moded every single cards at the beginning of Disk 1 (100 flares from Ruby dragon + 100 full lives from Chimeras = WIN)

Worst: Everytime Selphie goes on a trippy, weird, and useless speach, especially about trains going to the future...meh

[Stupid Aquarius]

Best: The Shiny Parade with the beautiful Edea. Gaaah, she's amazingggg. Also the ball scene is one of my favorite FMVs evarrr

Worst: That part in Deling City, where Quistis stupidly abandons her post to go apologize to Rinoa for being right. And then you have to go through those awful sewers! I JUST. I DON'T EVEN. So incredibly rage inducing; I still haven't forgiven Quistis for that because damnit I hate those cunting sewers. The one time I'm like "Yeah yeah! Finally someone sets that twat in her place!" and then Quistis goes right ahead and does a 180. Talk about a slap in the face.

Ok you know what, I might as well just throw in any part where Rinoa gets her ass in a shituation, because quite frankly her affinity for being a plot-engorging damsel in the distress is one of my biggest beefs with this game.

Worst - "Set the missile's Error Ratio"

Final Fantasy 8 was great but that plot twist about them all knowing each other was really bad.

Yeah the story wasn't very well thought out :l

Here's hoping to a remake/sequel since they seem to be doing that to the older FF's. They'll get to the FFVIII and IX remakes eventually.
