And yet they were utterly worthless.
That's why the International version is better because it's got the Zodiac Job System where you have to pick a job class on the License Board and they can only use weapons/skills/magic that are within the range of said Job.
The fact that they had a 50,000,000 HP Super Boss when your max damage was 9,999 really pissed me off. It was the worst idea that Square has ever come up with.

Inb4 XII is the most useless thing in itself. I liked 12.
Veto. XII is the most useless thing in & of itself.
Doesn't Yiazmat cap your damage at 6999 halfway through the fight for no apparent reason?
I don't really like the idea of the Zodiac Job System, but I do bring up the international version a lot, mostly for this reason--if XII had such gameplay elements, why did they feel the need to fix virtually all of them?
INB4 doesn't work that way. =3
Maybe they changed it all up to better match the Zodiac thing in Ivalice? Ivalice seems to be steeped in the Zodiac for some reason. They weren't so much fixing gameplay elements, as they were simply making them different in order to re-sell a game most Japanese interested in the series already had.
I dunno, they helped me through a lot of tough bosses while I played, but I suppose that would make them broken, huh :P
I would have liked to have that right from the beginning, but nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo, Square does what it always does and completely reworks it in a version that we don't get. At least they realized their folly :P
^This. Otherwise, I did like XII, once I got past the small things I didn't like :P

In my defense, it's supposed to be about memes anyway, according to Encyclopedia Dramatica.INB4 doesn't work that way. =3
Yes, I just used ED as a source.
This doesn't account for making the summons controllable which would have been the right idea from the start. No, they were fixing bad gameplay.Maybe they changed it all up to better match the Zodiac thing in Ivalice?
Pseudoivalice. I don't accept that horseshit the TA games & XII crammed down my throat as the same world as the Kingdom of Ivalice.Ivalice seems to be steeped in the Zodiac for some reason.
They were dickslapping my 2nd favorite FF title after raping it is what they were doing. They weren't so much fixing gameplay elements, as they were simply making them different in order to re-sell a game most Japanese interested in the series already had.
Yes, I'm bitter.
I can't really remember, but I don't actually recall it happening when I fought him. Either way, doing 9,999 or 6,999, the battle takes a painfully long time to complete.y
If it's Ivalice, then they should have just done that in the beginning like Belts said.
The Quickenings quickly (no pun intended) become useless as you progress through the game when bosses have more HP than your Quickenings can dish out, even if you manage to chain them together to do Shadow or whatever the highest level combination attack is.
It's an action of clinical insanity, obviously.

Bitter because you didn't get it. =P
No, I wasn't interested in the Zodiac Job Version, because XII was shitty & the Job System just sounded like a cheap rehashing.
The reason I'm bitter is because this game almost had no connection to FFT, despite the whole "Ivalice Alliance" marketing angle, & it STILL managed to fuck up the entire storyline.
So, your opinion of your second favourite Final Fantasy was that it's shitty?
