For the people who bring up CC, you guys need to realize one thing: it's all retcon CG battle pron shit that SE has sadly decided to do with VII related materials.

IF there is going to be a remake, or that sequel, you can bet 20 Buster Swords that Cloud and co will do far more flashy and stupid CG crap. So it's all one sided garbage.


As for the Sepiroth thingie, a lot of you are also forgeting that was PRE-NIBELHIEM Sephiroth which was when he was at his weakest, Post-Nibelhiem and AC Sephiroth are on a whole different power level. Let's see how poor Zack fair against that Sephiroth? Sephiroth would toy around with him even more so than Cloud.

And last of all, Cloud has that stupid infamous DEM and plot armor. As if he could lose with such a stupid gimmick.

Honestly, that post makes me wonder whether you even read the thread. I don't think I'm going to bother correcting anything other than saying that nobody has forgotten the difference between Sephiroth before/during Nibelheim, and after Nibelheim, and I can't fathom what makes you think otherwise.

tbh i thought this debate was over :/ just to point a few things out the fact sephiroth had 1 hit point in the last battle in VII and also the fact cloud cant lose is game mechanics wat even trying to use is just sad lol he had 1 hit point because cloud is supost to win if you just use omnislash and kill him like that in the cut scene he still has a cut on his eye so you cant judge how strong sephiroth was there by how much health he had. sephiroth is alot stronger than minerva its been stated sephiroth is the strongest character in the final fantasy VII universe. the fight zack with sephiroth remember ffVII when you saw it it lasted all of 5 seconds he ran in and got thrown back out in crisis core the only reason you had to fight him at all was because it was good gameplay (in fairness i loved that fight with sephiroth was so cool) but every cut scene in that fight zack is gettin his ass handed to him. there is nothing wrong in what iv said and cloud wins this everytime the fact anyone can even deny it is laughable

Cloud Strife because while Zack Fair is a good character and everything, Cloud Strife is quite unique. Cloud is just a average boy wishing to be somebody better and to impress his childhood crush. Zack feels too perfect sometimes. He's already a Solider, something which Cloud can only wish to be. Zack is also quite talented and everything and he can also pick up a girl no problem. Also more than one girl was eyeing him while he was dating Aerith. Cissinei. Zack does go through some troubling things throughout Crisis Core so he's not a complete male version of a Mary- Sue, though he already feels like a typical and average hero. Good looking, poplaur, able to get any girl he desires, and talented.

Cloud however is a bit of a mess up. He's shy, confused about his identity, and he's weak physically and mentally. Cloud is somebody who you would not aspect to save the world or become a hero while Zack Fair you could see coming a mile away, since he has the usual Hero juice in his personality.

Also Cloud goes through a depression, self- doubt, being mind controlled by Sephiroth and Hojo and sometimes has complete mental fits. Cloud is just so much more special and unique, while Zack while he is a decent FF hero and character he just feels like the usual "Superman " hero mold that you'll usually see in Fantasy media.

Are you sure? Cloud would not even beat sephiroth in CC or ACC without zack 1st in cc zack fight with sephiroth sephiroth is injured or tired and he picked zack sword and put him a thrust on behind and its not like zack would not able to lift sephiroth if sephiroth sword is in his stomach beside zack still lonely on angeal's death cloud has tifa to fight for zack doesnt have aerith to fight for so he isnt that desperate he just want to stop sephiroth 2 on acc cloud is nearly get his assed kick but zack help him mentally 3rd Cloud is Using Zack power Example the Braver and the chainslash that he turn into an omnislash

It's pretty clear from all accounts that Cloud is stronger than Zack, this is before he even learns how to fight mind you.

As for using Zack's power, technically he only thought he was and even then his moves quite clearly become alot stronger than Zack's by the end.

Cloud could of maybe of beaten Sephiroth; though the point is that Cloud never believed in himself; he thought that he was feeble and useless because he failed to save Tifa when he was a little boy. Cloud had the power to lift up Sephiroth and his sword and toss him in the Lifestream rivers below. I couldn't see Zack doing that anytime soon. Though because Cloud feels like he's this little weakling he never makes into Solider and he can't prove his true strength, though he soon unleashes it to his surprise.
Zack may have fancy and cool looking fighting moves and skills, but when it comes down to brute strength Cloud is a clear winner. He managed to defeat Sephiroth at the end of FF VII without Zack's guidance, so he's not as weak as your making him out to be.

In ACC Cloud was depressed and again he was back to believing that he was useless and a good for nothing, so Zack had to help him defeat Sephiroth by making him believe himself and that Cloud is in fact a strong person. Zack came in to make Cloud realize that he's better than he believes, not because Cloud is sucky at fighting.

I want to clarify something about Sephiroth and Cloud...
Many of you say that Cloud is stronger than Sephiroth because of that fact that Sephiroth has never won against Cloud in a fight...
I have to say this,Sephiroth never really took Cloud seriously,he wanted to play with him.
On the other hand,Cloud puts all his might against Sephiroth in every fight.

The only person in FF7 Sephiroth took seriously was Zack,you could see that Sephiroth really wanted to defeat Zack.
Afterwards,Cloud stabs Sephiroth on the back,while Sephiroth impales him with the Masamune...Sephiroth is already exhausted from trying to destroy the town and fighting Zack,so he couldn't have resisted Cloud that much.
Cloud used dirty-tactics in his first fight with Sephiroth that's why he won back then.

So basically,Sephiroth tends to hold back everytime he fights Cloud.And yes,Sephiroth IS stronger than Cloud.
