Cecil Guide Discussion

Welp, as there isn't one already, I've decided to compile my own knowledge and experiences with Cecil into a handy dandy guide. Problem is, it's not complete enough to post yet, so I figure why not at least get the hype up.

But wait, I says to myself. That's good enough for me, but what about the community? Well, any community input would be appreciated. Anything you guys would like thrown in there (Besides the basics, obviously) or maybe even something you don't want in it? I don't know. That's why input is great. (Just a heads up, I have NO data from the Japanese release of the game. Yeah, I got Cecil to level 100 and beat all sorts of story modes and stuff, but that was only the beginning. I had no idea what his abilities really were, or when they would be helpful, I just knew which buttons to push when, and I was happy. US release will remedy this, and I can achieve masterdom.

So, tl;dr: Everything's coming from the US release.

I'd say go for it, Each character does need a FAQ for people who are new at this game. Although i do recommend only playing Cecil on adhoc party till you know so much about him that you can explain things without sucking on your thumb

Well, I dont have the us version yet, so the changes from the jap version to English isnt from my own experience. So if theres any mistake,*Runs and hides* Its not my fault

I was wondering would you consider Saints Fall a good attack? Or replace for more CP? Also would you say Paladin Arts>Gravity Ball?

I replaced Gravity ball with Paladin arts for the extra CP, as well as replacing Slash with Dark Step. I did not get rid of Saint's Fall, though. I personally like to have more than one HP attack in the air, but that's just me. If you can deal with only having one, I would say that it would be possible to replace it.

Hi there, I'm a new Cecil player and just started Dissidia 4 days ago with Cloud as my main. I'm currently at lv 32 Cecil so I haven't unlocked all his abilities. I'll eventually get there after my work as it is weekends so I would like to learn a few things about him, here are my questions:

1.) What attacks are Dodge Cancellable(DC)?
2.) Does he have any sort of combo that involves DC? Kinda like Clouds Hazzard>DC>SB>Omni ver5.
3.) What are his high priority attacks than can break others HP attacks?
4.) Common play styles/openings (preferably offense oriented instead of waiting/blocking and punishing) you use the most.
5.) Could you please list some effective(staple) and also advanced combos that you usually use in a match.
6.) Do you have any vids of high level Cecil fights? (US ver)
