Default So, is anyone dissapointed with Sephiroth's animations?

Ever since I picked up Dissidia, I've always hated how Sephiroth's attacks are a bunch of slashes swirling around instead of actual sword strikes. Does this bug anyone else? I hope that if a Dissida 2 is ever made that they change his moveset...

Sephiroth's sword is meant to cut the air, isn't it? So he doesn't even need to waste so much energy to actually hit the opponent and slice through. I dunno, more connection's instead of "air-hits" would probably be better.

Is that what you mean? I didn't get the exact topic...

If they made that long katana actually swish around, his Sudden Cruelty attack would have a ridiculously large area of attack. Oblivion would be pretty cool though, although it may be the ice skating attack you're talking about - he drops down towards the enemy's level and makes a slash across.

I think it's fine though, it probably has to do with how clunky he'd look swinging that big sword around so fast in a somewhat slow-paced fighter like Dissidia, and there's no crazy camera to make it look nice. Well, I think it would look clunky, but my imagination is kind of terrible.

probably doesnt happen until FF 21 but it sure would be awesome xD

    *edit*

yea w00t xD well, try to imagine slower attacks, but just the absolute brute force behind such a huge sword.....! >_< imagine Sephi being able to be like Clouds EX Mode, no more defending for ya! lol, and with that reach, oh my dear lord....

Well, except the Masamune, and other katanas or nodachis, weren't really designed for brute force. Mostly the swiftness and ease of movement.

It's supposed to be the air rupturing with one swift swing of his sword, with the air turning into sharp laces to continue the attack.

That's what I was going to say....

I would've rather more cuts, rather than "magic" slices.

It's a game, it doesn't have to be real

im aware of that, but furthermore, they were said to be able to cut other metals, meaning being able to slice another sword, thus breaking the enemys defense (Cloud EX mode) and come on, a 6-9 feet long sword, has to have some weight, did u guys never even hold a normal sword or katana? its darned heavy >_<.... cant imagine swinging a 6-9 feet katana with ONE HAND lol....

(6-9 feet depending on who u ask o_O cant be bothered to check up on it atm though, need to go shop, brb ^^)

    He's superhuman.

Yeah, I was a bit disappointed, but I choose to believe that his abilities lie in materia. If you look, I'm pretty sure he has the right combination of materia to justify his bullshit.
