Care to make a topic on that in the Cloud section? I'm curious on what you mean?
As for Sephiroth, I stated that I was okay with some of his animations, just not some of his in the air :S That one looked boooooring. At least on the ground he swung, and the air slices were like an after-effect. In the air he just holds it in front of him >.< (Totally can't remember the names of the attacks.)

Lycoris: I think that attack's supposed to be loosely based off of the air stabbing Sephiroth does to Cloud in ACC. If so, I believe that is a very, very apt name.
Pretty apt for Sephiroth in general, really. Also, what's your avatar? 'Sides friggin' awesome.
Belts: If you commented on the part about Sephiroth, I just don't really like the "I look like I'm standing still, but I'm really slashing you a bunch really fast" Trope. Whatever it's called. That's why I like to think that Sephiroth is using materia.
As for the Cloud thing, a lot of his attacks are really awkward. Cross-Slash has a surprisingly short range, considering his sword is just a foot or so shorter than Sephiroth's. And then there's the one--I forget what it's called--where he flips upside down to attack someone below him. It's based off of the motorcycle slicing he did in the movie. Anyway, that made sense in the movie, but in the game, it just looks ridiculous. He's flipping upside-down for no apparent reason & somehow forcing the opponent upward despite the shitty leverage that move must have?
And what the Hell is Braver even DOING? He kinda forces himself forward with a gut-thrust somehow, then flips over & knocks the opponent down. Why not just slash downward? Then there's the one where he knee-thrusts upwards before slashing. Why not just slash? The Buster Sword has a way wider range than his knee.
That's just a quick, half-assed description of what I mean, without doing any research or even double-checking for names.

I think Cross Slash looks beautiful.
I also didn't make the connection between the motorcycle slice and aerial fang....
Completely agree with Braver though, I had NO idea that move was supposed to be Braver until I got the English version. It's just plain awkward to look at.
I still think Cross-Slash is pretty cool, I just think it's a fairly awkward attack, given what Cloud can actually DO.
This is not a Cloud topic. Please take that to the appropriate place.

Weiss Hikari- literally "White Light"
"I am the pure white light. I am the cold silent steel. I am the immaculate sword. With blade in hand, shall I reap the darkness of the world and shoot it under the gunfire of oblivion. I am The Immaculate Weiss Hikari!! Witness the end!"
I practise Kendo and I like katana, so I like Sephiroth a lot.
The Sephiroth animation itself (in Dissidia Duodecim) is OK. His CGI movement is taken perfectly from a swordman model I think.
But Sephy doesnt need that too many animation.
If we compare him in the previous games cutscene of FF7 series, I don't think Sephiroth is making too much movement AFTER attack as DDFF does, i.e. his character is not allowing him to make a meaningless movement..
"Sharp, straight, and fast" is sephiroth style.
I also think that in DDFF Square Enix doesn't want to make Sephy too almighty in purpose.. so the animation in DDFF is a result of it...
