Dissidia Reunion

Paru is our current banner till Hyne makes one.

What is DFF Reunion?
DFF Reunion is a private tournament where the most well known players are personally selected to participate in this tournament.
It starts off with small numbers while each tourney sends more invites to the players that potentially performed well for their characters.

Reunion first focuses on the Japanese Version of Final Fantasy Dissidia to bring the old school players together. after this Japanese tournament it'll focus on the US version without the ability of "Snooze And Lose" all the upcoming tournaments in Reunion will have the same rule set being used. (Kaos 1.5)
While each tourney more players are invited it'll also offer better data for each character.

Who's running the tournament?
Kraid, Robodestroyer and I will be running this tournament.
Hopefully if Wedge has enough time he'll be interviewing the players that are invited to this.
Hyne will be in charge of the banner and lay outs.

Hey! How come I wasn't invited?
Take it easy, the majority of the popular players will get invited trough time, If you are not invited do not take offense to it, We rather want to take it slow to organizing it will be steady.

Which players are currently invited in "Reunion"
The first tournament will be JP DFF, It's a really small one but we plan on expanding it once we finish the JP version and move on the US version.

You said SnL is banned in Reunion when a US tourney is up, Why?
JP Dissidia did not have SnL to assist you with.
While banning SnL is like a double edged sword since either way you will be promoting turtling but SnL causes some characters to be unplayable such as OK. This discussion will be brought up by Kraid in another thread.
Concentration/+/++ is banned in the JP Tournament since it works exactly like snooze and lose, Instead of losing brave, the player gains brave without doing anything.

The tourney officially starts on August the 1st.
For the tourney participants, It's okay to start before August the 1st.
Starting from August the 1st, You have 4 days to do your first match!
August 4th till 8th for the second round etc.
Results with the map you fought on must be PMed to NeroMD.

KAoS 1.5 Ruleset:

Equipment:

Weapon: Impartisan (さごじょうのやり)
Hand: Tortoise Shield (甲羅の盾)
Helm: Saucer (皿)
Body: Reed Cloak (アーマーガッパ)

Accessories:

It is required to have +6 defense in KAoS 1.5, any combination of these accessories will work, just make sure it totals out to +6:

Orange Gem x1 (オレンジジェム)
Orange Drop x2 (オレンジドロップ )
Protect Powder/Shard/Crystal/Orb x2(守りの砂/守りの破片/守りの結晶/守りの珠)
Close To You x1 (クローストゥユー)

Abilities:

-Either choose Sneak Attack (不意打ち) OR Counter Attack (カウンター攻撃) both at the same time are illegal.
-Disable abilities are banned (these characters signify that the ability is a disable ability: 無効)
-Concentration/+/++ (集中/集中+/集中++) is banned
-Any Exp to _____ (EXPをHPに/EXPをブレイブに/EXPをEXフォースに) abilities are banned
-Ability Sort Glitch is banned
- EX Guard Counter (EXGC) is banned
- EX Splicing (EXS) is banned
- EX Link (EXL) is allowed, but cannot be chained into a EX burst
- EX Cancels (EXCa) are allowed
- EX Reflects (EXR) are allowed
- EX bursts are allowed; but restricted to 1 per fight

The JP version comes first simply for fun, To bring the old players back together. The US version will be used for Data purposes and such.

But why make it private, since the top players are the ones who end up at the top of the roster in other tournaments anyway?

It makes DF seem kinda elitist, since we have so many people who become members just to join our tournaments :/

We're not putting the two version together. It would screw the data up, Some players miss the JP version and ever since the US release we learned a lot. Let's say Tidus for instance, He's like OPed as hell in the JP version but I didn't use him to the fullest like in the US version (Wall rush combo's and such) so it's pretty cool to see those characters being used to their fullest potential, Squall for example loses a lot in the jp version but he does have the ability to M cancel.
The players that participate in the JP version will also be transfered to the US version so you can see the differences of the players strategy.

It does make it look elitist but there are other tourneys avaliable such as Ragnarok and the next upcoming tournaments too. Some players that were invited never made it to the top of the roster.

The reason it's also private because it's easier to agree upon a ruleset and banning abilities. Everyone agreed to ban SnL for example in the US version of DFF Reunion to see what the effects are.

You can simply say it's like a side tournament.

a) It's private because this is more for people who used to play the original. We want to keep it small and it was originally planned more for a 'for fun thing.' However we soon realised we could do some big stuff with it. It's closed off for this reason.

Not everyone will also have JPN Dissidia. It's meant to be partly nostalgic, but also to have some fun in the process.

b) There is no B since I explained almost everyone I wanted to at A.
