In my opinion, the only difference in EX mode is that you can be a bit more aggressive. It doesn't make you a Zidane or anything like that, enemies that have seen the power of screwing with an EX Cloud will be playing cautiously and you aren't going to be able to do as good as you guys are making it out to be. It's just that instead of blocking you, they'll be dodging you. I find that in EX mode, the funnest thing to do is (ironically) to use braver more often. Because they aren't going to see that coming.

BTW, to catch air campers you just don't want to go into the air with, try using Climhazzard as they dash to you from the air (if they need to be melee like Squall or Zidane).

No one's saying Cloud suddenly becomes awesome in the air when he activates EX, but it puts the opponent in a position where any sort of offensive attacks on their part may blow up in their face, and removes the option of blocking. I've seen plenty of people block on reaction when they forget they can't, similar to how people sometimes forget Garland will rip them apart even while he's being stabbed.

Yes, he's no Zidane, but he's Cloud V1.5, that's good enough for me.

Cutting aside the air game and focusing on the EX mode, IMO its better to still have your ground game and have EX mode since it makes Cloud a great threat on ground. wrong dodges and great mindgames can be provided by EX mode (like when you're normal and go Climhazzard and activate EX while dashing so your opponents can't block). This makes an instant HP damage (and you can even EX burst after...). But his air game improves but not much in ex mode. Also, IMO you still need to be more of a defensive character than aggrressive even inEX mode since even if you can stagger and guard crush, you can still be punished by wrong attacks by characters like Tidus, WoL, etc...

yeah but most people are used to clouds ex build and counter him with a lufenian set and tend to run away if your close. i use my atk build against my opponents 4 brv eating and faster wins it also helps u not to rely on your ex mode for victory, although a strong ex build helps u survive as well :P

For builds, wallrush builds are more to go since it makes him very lethal. Also, I really don't like EX builds for cloud myself since he is still slow and predictable in ex mode, only aggressive. So I tend for the wallrush build.
