Okay, so, I just started working on Gabranth and need some tips. I have him set to an EX Build that seems to be working for me pretty well. I can't access any Artifacts so I'd like to know your experienced advice on what to use instead.

Pretty good bro, you probably don't want to bother with absorbing Ex Force/Core, at least not with that setup. It's much more convenient to add the silver and gold hourglasses. I main with Gabranth and that's what gives him his edge: Ex mode duration. My setup (for max hp) is: Gold Hourglass, Silver Hourglass x2, Summon unused, Ex Mode, Large Gap in BRV, HP is multi-4, (opponent) summon unused (and used), and HP=100% (for regeneration). The good thing about this setup is I'm constantly in the x8.5 range in Ex Mode, giving me solid time while in it. You're also going to want better armor, preferably Genji. Genji was pretty much MADE for Gabranth, higher luck, more regeneration, HP to BRV, Ex core appaearance boost. This combination rapes on the blackjack course, plus his nigh-instant BRV attacks makes him constantly a threat, even vs. 150 Chaos. Hope this helped.

I just watched the vid, my bad ^^, it was good, accessories are actually fine if you like them that way, I just prefer being able to mess around and free-roam in EX mode rather than constantly having to attack for more force. work on that gear and you'll be in good hands.

Firstly: Is that a remix of Welcome to the Limousine? Love that song. Persona FTW.

Ditch CotW and the Silver hourglasses.
And ya can drop the Ivory Choker and Attractorbs for boosters
Your accessories so far don't boost your damage, and your Ex gain is pitiful.
You *need* damage boosters, and some multipliers. Getting a 5x Multiplier with some damage boosting, a gold hourglass, gravitorb, and pearl necklace will pretty much mean you gain almost permanent Ex mode, get into it very quickly, and deal a lot of damage.

For gear: Use Heaven's Cloud with Katana Adept, it's got more Atk than his exclusive, and +6M Ex Intake Range.
Use the Genji set for regen boost, Lck boost, and ex core appearence boost. All useful on Gab.


Ditch Lunge, in any case where you'd use Lunge, Enrage is superior in every way.

For your fighting style:
Rely on Ex Charge less, use it when there's an opening or to bait the opponent into attacking, use Gab's air BRV attacks to gain a lot of Ex force quickly (They generate a lot).
Once in Ex, keep on the offensive really, his attacks are fast enough.

I use a Destruction Resin instead of the EX Mode booster as it drastically improves Gab's damage with only a minor sacrifice in Ex gain.

Honestly no point in recording Chaos. Figured out a trick in IC/Blackjack w/ Gab. Just spam Dual Rend, Cancel, Dual Rend, Cancel, etc. Gets through him 95% of the time. Whenever you're max BRV just dodge backwards and use Innocense mid. Doesn't have anything to do with the thread, just thought it interesting that I found this out good fun.

whats if all the AI talk? anyway, your gab needs a lot of work

for your build, get rid of the attract orbs, CotW, Ivory Chocker and Silver Hourglass. Then go get some good boosters, like summon unused, EX Mode, large gap in BRV, etc

as for ur playstyle:

-sentence>CoJ
-get OAD, cuz gabby just needs it.
-Enrage us mostly better than RL (RL isnt completely useless, but still)
-Be moar careful when EX Charging to avoid getting hit like u did in that first thunder
-get better at blocking
-use aero
-random innocence is random

That's not really a lot, you're basically just telling him to keep the time for ex duration up. Aero's not good except when you're a ways away or they can just attack you through it; you have a long cancellation time afterwards. Something interesting about Gab that you may want to keep in mind is his force of attacking. When ever he lands a hit, especially a quick multi-attack like dual rend, an abnormal amount of ex force comes out, and he absorbs it immediately, so you really don't need to have all that many force-boosters up there. He's a provider in himself.

so just because its already good ur not gonna make it even better? aero is VERY useful, see draecs guide. Sure u need to be away from them, but when they are, aero is better than nothing. oh and i forgot to mention the most important, VOJ NAO

@Everyone: Thank you for the ideas. I made sure to put in Aero, and i'm working on getting the Genji set. Any tips on how to get it quickest?

Also, tips on his ability build? EXP to EX Force seemed staple for Gabby, but what others?

Aero is not really that useful, imo, except against some melee characters and in a tight environment like Pandemonium or Kefka's Tower. Otherwise, its a decently punishable attack. You're better off with Vortex of Judgement to shake off SnL pressure, more damage, potential combo'ing, chasing, reflect weak magical projectiles (Terra counter), less lag execution, and bypass blocks if you angle it right.

Well, Heike equipment is only gained as rewards through Story mode... Shantotto's and Gabranth's stories I believe? You have to be IC before it's unlocked in shop though. If you're having trouble with the other items though, do Arcade mode: Time attack. Beat it under 15 minutes for 10 Megalixirs, and 10 of each stone. That'll get you ahead on supplies for whatever you need. If you have trouble beating Time attack under 15 minutes.... spam 0-form particle beat with CoD. That's all I can say about supplies for Genji.

And Aero isn't totally effective because you shouldn't ever be that far away from your opponent. Gabranth has amazing instant attacks that cover a distance and hack away brv like no tomorrow. Dual Rend, Rupture, Enrage, and Innocence are your best friends. Use your friends wisely. And quickly.
