All moves have their own importance. I think Oblivion could probably pull that off too

Oblivion doens't go far enough, Omni and is much harder to punish bad dodges with. Oblivion is extremely good for vertical punishment though.
Weiss... I'm a girl =(Additionally... this topic is full of real men doing real talking like only real men would do...
But yes, please try to find more about GS and be a little more open with the ability. Of course the other 3 are great but I've found GS to be great as well, it just takes time to get used to.

Coming from someone whose [temp] main is sephiroth, so that's in good hands. I'm guessing that different people have different uses. From the video I saw here, I was disappointed in Godspeed's comboing, since it missed like half the time. Another thing I'd like to point out between the two is, if you saw me vid, it's pretty easy to get behind the opponent with Oblivion for a Sneak Attack (if you miss the counterattack/riposte/whatever), and not near as easy with Godspeed. From what I've tried with GS you can't really be too close for it to be effective, which means it's hard to get that Sneak attack with that combo. That's just what I was seeing though, I could be wrong.

Simply because my temp main is Sephy doesn't mean I use him worst than any of my mains. It's just someone I don't always enjoy playing with. I took him up recently as a trial AND I've used him for a long time for friendlies. Understand that.
Obviously, Oblivion is easy to get SA on. But I have CA on if YOU noticed and GS is great for CA. Sephiroth is good with either criticals, depending on your playstyle. If i had Oblivion, I'd put on SA just for SC -> O (always sneak attack)
You have to be open about every ability. I already stated I know how great Oblivion is. Neither do I use GS to combo much if you noticed in my video. This game isn't all about combos. Combos are nice yes but having a CA'd GS is perfectly fine too. GS is a punishing move, just as Obli is. Just used in different cases. For fun, I've even done SC-less Sephy. Stupid yeah but fun and you can punish all sorts of things.
And yes Weiss, sorry just read. Yup, it's good for Tidus =D
Oh and I knew you were joking.~

You have to understand, I'm not just talking to you. I wasn't dissing you about the temp main either, or I wouldv'e added the "" face. I'm aware combos don't make the players game 100%, but it definitely does help. And I'm not saying anything against GS. The only flaw I see is that there's not always CA opportunities, but that's easily fixable. Trust me, I'm not getting into arguments with anyone >.>

Alright, but the only 2 times you land Obli is during SC-O or to punish. Which is very similar with GS and GS has range in exchange for tracking. Yes combos are awesome.

IMO, Sephy's aerial game should look something like this when debating between SF and GoS:
* SF ~ Pressure/safe/punish/combo-game.
* GoD ~ semi-safe/punish/combo (ground)-game. SC > Oblivion can fail (can get you blocked) when enemy landing lag (ELL) occurs, for some characters (i.e. Tidus, Golbez, etc.), whereas SC > ELL > GoS can get the job done with the same or greater damage output.
By the way Lyco, check your PM's because I KNOW you troll this thread <3
