I really hope they add noctis to the cast, i mean, versus XIII is in development since 06' and is a very anticipated game for ps3, AND, the previous dissidia has lightning player icon, someguy from agito/type-0 (ace i think) and noctis player icon, this gotta mean something, not to mention that Noctis would have a interesting playstyle xD

Thing is, there is a barrier that they haven't broken so far and I doubt they will: After all, every single character ever added to Dissidia belongs to the main branch.

Take as an example the fact that very few people like FFXI in comparision to many spin offs like Tactics or Crisis Core. Yet we have two FFXI characters. That sounds to me like they're sticking to the plan really hard.

The "shocking reveal" phrase was uttered by IGN, who undoubtedly got it wrong, much like how I think there is no tournament mode (something else uttered by IGN). They probably saw the Party Battle screenshot and assumed it was a seeding roster.
