So yeah. As a rabid Sephiroth fan and player, naturally I was overjoyed that he was a selectable character in Prologus. I suck at the game, so most of the intricate detail of his moveset changes is probably lost on me but I did notice a few things, like the crushing Scintilla and the new ground BRV move.

Also, that split second of resistance at the moment a Hell's Gate pierces an enemy is so satisfying. I can't wait to use it on Aerith...

No don't! Then you'll have to watch a really long cutscene

Does he still have his DC combos? If not, has he been buffed in any noticeable way?

Don't forget to post it on youtube in HD and repeat the sequence 'til the video reaches about 10 minutes in length.

No, he lost his DC combos. In fact, he´s lost almost all of his old tricks.
But, so far, CoD(his available assist) has done a great job in giving him opportunities. You can actually link Sudden Cruelty into Hell´s Gate using CoD´s assist...quite a sexy combo.

So far, from what I've heard, it seems like he's like Cloud; while he doesn't have exactly slow moves, his Assists can be used with him to make quite a formidable combo. In addition I heard his Assist bar gains rapidly.
If so, I see quite a few opportunities for him.

I'm actually not a fan of that. I was hoping the assists would be just that, assisting you when you need it. As opposed to being the core element for a character to rely on. Oh well, I'm sure we'll still see some DC combos before long.

A character that has trouble dealing HP damage will certainly have assist tactics as his/her core element.
Unfortunately, Seph is such a character.

Seeing as how the Heaven's Light combo is gone, Hell's Gate glitch and combo is gone, he seems to only have Scintilla as a good counter-HP attack. So clearly, it seems he'll be relying on assists.

Well we only used some of his HP attacks.
We won't know until the full game comes out.
Maybe Heaven's Light and if His new HP attacks (if he even gets any that is <___<) are easier to land....
