Is it just me, or is the new speed of duodecim just ridiculous? It almost ruined the game for me; I always felt that Dissidia had the perfect fighting pace.
Has there really been that much change? From what I've seen, the only thing that was significantly sped up was Chase, and I always felt that that was too slow in the original anyway.
Hmm...that's right. The only thing that sped up was Chase. Now I hate Chase.
Oh, and EX Cores hardly give you any EX Force now but that's off topic.
Chase adds to it now I think. Before it broke gameplay. Speed is not really that different to me. The only thing that bugs me is the damn jump reset at dodge. I relied on that like a homeless guy relies on cardboard boxes. It really kills moves sometimes and slows it down.

Yes, Chase now gives you plenty of EX Force. Also, I found the L button to respond slower. It's harder to switch targets now. That, or my finger was too fast for the game. Regarding dodges, yeah, I know the pain. It REALLY kills moves and it can screw up your strategy.
Battle speed is pretty much unchanged, it's just the characters' move buffs that make it look a bit different.
Yeah, the target-switching change was implemented, if memory serves, in order to help accommodate the Assist system and Lightning's Paradigm Shift. You have to hold the button down a little bit longer. Otherwise, you'd find yourself losing your target whenever you called in an Assist.
Well at least it's not this fast!

or this slow

On a serious note i'm glad that the battle speed increased. It was a bit slow for me and sometimes it ruined my game.
And now we fight like men! and women! and women who dress like men! Gilgamesh

Black Mage: "..."
Black Mage: "If you think about it, that's really their problem."8-bit theater chaos FTW
I don't think the new speed and targeting really ruined anything for anyone. You're just saying that now cause we're all used to the original Dissidia's speeds. After a month or so of playing Duodecim, we'll all develop our own new strategies to match new gameplay styles accordingly and everyone will be fine. It's just the initial transition over to this new game that'll be difficult.
speed hack OK ...
I'm in awe a little bit!

Precisely. I somewhat raged at how I couldn't chase properly while playing the demo (I still can't, btw), but I figured I'll get used to it eventually. I do relish that the game no longer encourages EX mode as it did before. They make you work for it with chase or collecting ex cores, and the cores don't give you much at all. As cool as it is to see Cloud's Ultima Weapon being flashed about with all the glitter and lights that EX mode provides, being attacked by it for a full minute is not fun - and that's without any accessories and such helping out.
I'll get used to the changes, even the assist system because I really like what SE's doing with the game.
