EX Mode Bonus

I read here that at max HP, Cloud's EX Mode bonus doubles his ATK, and he has no bonus at 1 HP. Is it the same formula for Tidus, or is his boost different?

I would assume so, but you could always test it.

Well I tested it, and it seems Tidus' attacks are weaker in EX Mode than normal if he's at 1 HP. A normal Hop Step did 204-408 damage normally and 408-817 in EX Mode at full HP. At 1 HP though it did 182-365. I did two tests to be sure, and there were no Boosters or any other variables to effect the damage.

I believe Cloud's Atk bonus is only activated with FULL health and Tidus' Atk bonus gets stronger the more health he has.

Cloud's bonus acts just like Tidus' bonus, and is affected by the amount of health. Clouds health doesn't HAVE to be full.

So then why did Tidus' attacks get weaker?

His attack got weaker because his bonus is based on his HP. Outside of EX mode, HP doesn't affect his damage output, but in EX mode, his damage output will be affected no matter what his HP is; which is why his attacks were weakened. If he has low HP, don't expect a damn Jesus hop step, 'cause you'll end up disappointed. But I digress; His low HP also weakens his attack, so it's better to stay out EX mode when near death unless you've got a regen set or something else to turn the tables.
