    yeah i suspected this. The assist system kinda made it less useful for dodge punishing, but atleast RD has plenty of other uses ^^.
    btw can RD still be blocked by a brave attack? because this made characters like sephiroth undodge punishable.

    Don't know if this was answered or Not.

    Before the final hit of Fussilade is landed, I.E the Lightning Do you think you could call in an assist? Trying to find a way to make Fussilade more useful in my opinion is all lol

    Yes, but if you have an assist you can call him in after they get staggered by RD. =3

    The same as the use of TB > SB, and SB does more damage. There are a few characters you can call in during the final part of the attack so they aided you in chase--Terra and Ultimecia.

    Terra's Graviga should be activated after the first hit of SB or Fusillade and the attacks should be delayed as much possible. During chase, the Graviga will drop down on top of them and can link to AC during the animation. You might need to do an attack in chase to give Terra more time to drop the Graviga.

    Ultimecia's Hell Gate can be used during Fusillade and Solid Barrel, as well, but make sure you use her attack at the beginning of the final attack. Launch them into chase after, and do an HP attack, and they will either get hit by the HP attack or by Ultimecia's Hell Gate if they dodge.

    However these are the only useful combos these assists give Squall and in no way provide more HP attacks opportunities or more damage. The only thing that will make them slightly more useful is that they can't be locked when the opponent uses a 2-meter assist change.

    Doesn't Fussilade generate more EX force than Solid Barrel? That's one thing it has over Solid Barrel.

    Anyone try using Gabranth as an assist? Enrage does bullshit damage and works well with Thubder Barret

    I've been using Gabranth; like you said, Enrage is really good in combos. His HP assists are decent too, but I haven't found much use for Aero. Even if you land it, Squall doesn't benefit much from Assist Chase.

    RD can help you from getting dodge punished, so despite the nerf, it's still a great move to equip, just to let you all know.

    ... oh, wow, that's a great find. I imagine that's not as effective against mid-range and long-range fighters though.

    By the way, did we talk about the new Basic Abilities?

    I removed my Jump Times Boost and equipped Descent Speed Boost. Pretty useful for escaping attacks and setting them up. Given that the end result of Squall's attacks in the air is a grounded opponent, it's a good way to get on the ground quick from a high elevation.

    Ground Dash is also pretty cool, since you can land TB>SB or simply SB from it, or Upper Blues. I dunno if it's actually better to just use FAD and land a surprise Beat Fang than work with Ground Dash, but my current setup works nicely.
