Cecil maybe overrated but he's an excellent Assist and Squall too. No Cecil doesn't use Lightning Rise as a ground Assist move. He uses Shadow Lance, which is still good because of Wall Rush.
So Gravity Force > Ground Wall Rush > Shadow Lance assist > Wall Rush > either Genesis Rock or Sector Ray or Float System > Wall Rush > Radiant Wings assist > either Geneses Rock or Sector Ray or or Gravity Force or Rising Wave > Cosmic Ray (No more Wall Rush because the plume of dark energy lasts longer and they'll just get knocked into it) or Glare Hand > Cosmic Ray > Wall Rush or Float System > either Wall Rush or Cosmic Ray > Wall Rush
....So yeah he pretty much has a lot of options if you're using Cecil as an Assist.
It's just my thing but I like to use Assist characters that aren't from the same game of the character I'm using. I don't know why I like that but I just do.

Cecil is my 2nd main in the first Dissidia so I don't think he's overrated
Cosimcalgolbez said that Cecil is overrated as an Assist character. If you think about it, he might probably be overrated together with Jecht since they're used almost all the time from the DDFF vids I've seen but I don't really care if the character is overrated as an Assist. If they work, then they work right?
overrated as an assist, Since the day we saw the gameplay videos showing Cecil's assist, everyone's been saying that Cecil is THE BEST ASSIST EVAH!!, and a few friends of mine say he's overrated

It really sucks that Golbez' DC combos got removed...actually, can you DC out of anything anymore? But I digress. As for assists, the ones that cause chase from midair would be good probably (could Glare/ Float/Gravity System > Wall rush > Assist Chase > Attack/Float System > Comic/Sector Ray) or one that wall rushes (Wall rush > Assist Wall rush > continue combo).
I think we should have more walleush options for assist since Golbez has the choice to either do Rise wave, for extra brv damage, or Sector Ray, for hP hit. plus, Rise wave leads to wallrush, which means, more combo possibilities.
Althoug, Chase assist can lead to Float/ Grav systems, which are good and can connect with cosmic Ray
for both HP hit an wallrush
Err, I guess both options are beneficial for Golbez, so, Is there and assist that has one attack that leads to chase and another that leads to wallrush??
Ok so Cecil uses Shadow lance on ground... it's still a good move for wallrush and has great damage

Since goblet can't connect his Float and Grav systems after either Rise wave or Glare hand, Should we also equip a cosmic ray for Rise wave or Glare hand, to have it as a ground HP option??, or, can we live by just equipping it to Float system??

Tidus. Ground Assist: Sonic Buster. Aerial Assist: Hop Step.
Tifa. Ground Assist: Beat Rush. Aerial Assist: Falcon Dive.
Gabranth. Ground Assist: Enrage. Aerial Assist: Aero.
Possibly Garland? I don't know what his Ground Assist is but I do know that his Aerial Assist is Bardiche.
Maybe Prishe? I've never seen her Assist moves so I'm not sure.
Maybe Lightning? I don't know what her Ground Assit is but her Aerial Assist is Smite.
Maybe Gilgamesh? I don't know what his Ground Assist is but his Aerial Assist is Swallow's Return.
I don't really know about the rest.
In my opinion, I think we should equip Cosmic Ray on Glare Hand. Rise Wave's dark pluming energy lasts longer so there isn't a Wall Rush because the opponent just gets blasted to the air from it. And of course keep Cosmic Ray on Float System.
I noticed something earlier when powerleveling him today, it seems like A) Opponents recover faster from 1st hit (if you charge too long you can totally miss) of Rise Wave, and B) Glare Hand's range is much smaller now (I think someone said this). So I would probably suggest Cosmic Ray from RW.

I seem to have mistaken about Rising Wave's dark energy attack lasting longer so equip Cosmic Ray if you want to XP
I think is better on Glare hand, People don't expect it at close range and it's pretty fast(at close range), and at long range, it's for counterattacks
BTw you're right, I've seen videos and once Golbez hits with cosmic ray and sends them flying, they go to the purple thing and it shoots the upward, pretty funny :P
Also, Should Sector ray be equippe on both Ground and air??? Or just air and jump a little bit if u want to use it near re ground??
