I've been using Jecht with Tidus so far for the same reasons I've been using him with Squall (my main).
He's a heavy hitter and holds the enemy vulnerable enough to set up a range of different attacks. I find both Slice and Dice and Jecht Shot combo pretty well off the Jecht assist which gives you an easy BRV -> Assist -> HP link.
Aside from the fact that Jecht DOES do more damage than cecil, I find that Cecil is better than Jecht because Cecil allows you to hit with a dodge move, and then quick hit.
This combo would end up doing more damage simply because Cut n Run + Quick Hit for example would do much more damage than a slice and dice AND it would include wall rushing.

Look at the video I posted in the Tidus assist thread. One big thing Cecil can do that Jecht cannot is he can combo after dart n weave and stick n move. I also do not think jecht can combo after energy rain, slice and dice, and spiral cut but I am not SURE about that.
I know jecht wont connect after dodge attacks though.

Tidus is able to use Dart & Weave twice during Jecht's assist in the air, assuming that he's near the ground. It was shown in Nero's video which I posted.
(Dart & Weave > DC > Hop Step [1 hit] > Assist > Dart & Weave > Dart & Weave > Quick Hit)
Jecht still holds the opponent that Tidus can still pull off another Dart & Weave the second time.

I tried using Terra as an assist, and it has pretty strict timing. Here are some combos I made:
Graviga - Sonic Buster (strict timing) - Jecht Shot
Graviga - Spiral Cut - Your choice of attack
Graviga - Wither Shot - Energy Rain (Midair)
Dart and Weave - Quick Hit - Blizzard -Jecht Shot
Just testing some.Might help.

jecht would be an ideal assist for tidus if he was consistent, but he isn't. a lot of times jecht can miss when you try to link him to hop step.
kuja works pretty well. you can link kuja [ground or air] to cut and run, energy rain, or jecht shot.
unfortunately, linking kuja to cut and run has extremely strict timing and takes a ton of practice to make it consistent.

Spoiler:
I think there is no way jecht assist is not consistent. All assist programmed with their own frame n timing, so there is no way jecht will miss if you have the timing right. It's just the same as kuja assist that you have told before, it require a strict timing..
Just practice more with jecht assist. I'm using jecht as well and I've never miss the timing when I link hop step to him. Timing is all that matter.
BTW, I'm not really sold in using kuja assist for tidus, because kuja need more time to do connect his attack to opp, jecht is just instant..
Jecht is the easiest assist for Tidus to get you started with.
Calling assist right upon Hopstep hitconfirm forces Jecht to miss.
Calling him halfway to your first hopstep swing will make sure that Jecht won't miss.
Anyway
I find OK definitely my favorite assist for Tidus. He's versatile and can be a real killer on the ground and in the air. He gives a lot more choices for Tidus than Jecht.
Second assist is purely for fun and If you feel like showing off. He's not very practical in serious matches.
WoL!
Hope you enjoy.
Great videos Nero, I think I might play around with OK a bit after seeing that.
