Ok, so im making a poll to ask who is the best character in your respective opinions to use as an assist.
From what I have watched, an early popular choice was Cecil, probably in large part due to the trailers online teasing the game shoing Kain comboing an HP attack off of him. When the game was out I saw a lot of Cecil and Jecht, but not it seems to have moved towards Kuja as the popular one because you can beat the shiz out of them while Kuja is attacking and then do it AGAIN when Kuja is done.
Discuss.
Right now, I use mostly Kain and Jecht, but Kain tends to miss his brave attack if they are wallrushed in a ceiling corner. Initially used Exdeath, but he has slow startup time on his attacks and they really dont do too much.

Gotta say Jecht is great, if only for his Assist-B game. He can help almost anyone because he keeps them caught in a Jecht Stream/Rush for long enough to set up any other attack.
I got used to Warrior of Light with Lightning from Prologus, though![]()

I would probably say Jecht. Cecil is okay but I just don't like his ground Bravery Assist.
I think Kuja is great too but I suppose it depends on who has good aerial game because of the Assist Chase.
I'd say the best combos i've done are with Prishe and Jecht. I use Jecht for characters that get close to the enemy (melee) but with characters like Terra and Emperor, I use Exdeath and sometimes Gabranth(Love the ground bravery assist)

Depends on what you're aiming for.
More specifically, if your point character has an easier time comboing HPAs from wallrush, assist-chase or your assist holding them in place.
That being said, the best assists so far are:
Jecht(longest holding assist, ok wallrushing props and great damage)
Kuja(best assist-chase angle and good damage)
Cecil(great wallrushing and good damage)

i tried Seph assist with Squall and i discovered he's even better than Jetch (at least with Squall) since i can pull off
BF -> Ground -> Seph -> A.Circle -> Assist Chase -> BF
That's hardly a reason for Seph to be better than Jecht, since the latter allows for much more damaging combos.
If, for some reason, you don't like Jecht(and I fail to see why), Seph is a good choice for defensive maneuvers like the combo you posted. But you'll profit much more from pulling a Revolver Drive after a Thunder Barret comboed from Jecht than pulling an early Aerial Circle and going for Beat Fang later any day of the week.

even though ive pointed out jecht, you cant really pinpoint the best per say.
the game is still in its early stages, and we havent grasped the metagame.
i forsee assists organised into archetypes, such as combo extender, pressure etc...
thats just my take on it.
