Kuja or Sephiroth.
I prefer Kuja for a full aerial game.
And even with Kuja you can do Meo Twister twice.
As you push [] call Kuja, due to Link Glitch, Meo hit the opponent and causes him/her staggering, Kuja at the same time still attack the enemy, then, once attack is finished, Chase starts, and after AST-Chase, you can re-attack for a second Meo Twister xD.

Thank Goodness, Someya. I was just about to start talking about the Kuja MeoX2 Combo. It is especially great for opponents trying to keep you on the ground as it can take an enemy from ground level to the top of Order's Sanctuary.

The timing is much harder for me with Kuja. I've only been able to do it near a ceiling or close to a wall with him.

Hm...if Kuja's can't be done in a wide open area environment, I'll stick to Sephiroth. Sephiroth's Dual Meo Twister combo works anywhere.

kuja can be done in a wide-open environment, but you have to time his strike energy very precisely right as meo twister ends.

it's pretty much impossible to do in a laggy environment (and there's always lag online), so don't bother. the two best assists for zidane are aerith and sephiroth.

It really is not as percise as you think. Maybe it is because I have never done Sephiroth's 2x Meteo Twister combo. But Kuji-Ku's is as soon as the enemy starts flying at the end of meteo twister. To compensate for online lag you can try activating at the end of Meteo, depending on the lag. Kuja's Aerial Assist is so fast, as long as the enemy is not flying at high speeds or can recover, it will almost always hit.

Oops need to keep this on topic. Jecht is also a good assist for Dribbling the opponent. During a chase hit the enemy to the ground. Jecht Ground Assist and wall rush to the top of the arena, and your attack of choice. Especially good in Pandemonium top floor.

On the topic of trying different Assists, I've had an alright experience with Onion Knight. He's a bit easier to time than Sephiroth (just call him as soon as you start Meo Twister). He can link to SA, FE, Vortex, SI, and notably Grand Lethal, which you can't really do with Sephiroth/Kuja. However, he's pretty dependent on walls and cellings though, so he's a bad pick for arenas like Ulti's Castle and Orphan's Cradle (then again, those arenas are pretty Assist-unfriendly in the first place). It's rare to use his Ground Assist, since the only way you'll be doing it is likely from a Chase, but you can easily throw in a SA or Free Energy before the @chase.

I have Kain right now. I'm almost always in the air with Zidane, and Kain's the king of the skies. It only seems right. I haven't played too much with this set up yet to go into detail, so more speculation after I 100 Gil.
