Firion Assist & EX Revenge Combo Thread + Assist Discussion

So me and Random was up really late last night trying out new assist combos for our mains. I found anew stuff for ulti sephy and prishe but i'll post those in the appropriate threads. I also suggested two new assist combos involving swordslash and asked RF to try them out for me.

So basically remember the swordslash->Aerial Circle involving chase with sqaull right?
Turns out you can do the same thing for Sephiroth's Hell's Gate and Kuja's Force Symphony only getting a brave hit in the process along with an HP hit before using assist chase.


As you can see you are able to pull off weaponmaster, but you have to assist chase as fast as you can and quickly use it.

No kuja and Sephiroth really is broken assist :3
So anyway now kuja and sephy are great assist punishers, ground assists, air assists, and now you have an Inescapable HP move for both of them.

Side note: If you do it wrong they have a chance to strike back, but they can only hit with a brave move. Their HP move is interrupted by FS. It's still inescapable though. All you have to do is dodge the brave chase attack and they'll get hit no matter what.

I believe hell's gate doesn't give them a chance to fight back but we will test it out some more.

No people will more than likely go back to kuja since he has what squall had over him as an assist (for firion). Granted squall is still a better ground assist punisher.

These are pretty creative. Nice job lucky and RF. Guess it's all based on preference. I really do like sephiroth as my assist for firion and it's nice to see him used in a different way for firion.

We tried using Yuna first since she's one of the top assists but diamond dusts range was too low. Same with free energy from zidane. There was more me and RF talked about but once we thought about it we realized they wouldnt work such as Kain's dragon fang. We will work on something else though...maybe not for sword slash persay but something to try out

I update the first post with a summary about the Kuja assist. This is the well known stuff about him, but I added it to the first post for the sake of information.

I also added a few combos for Kuja in the second post. One of them is a basic ground Swordslash > assist > chase > idle > Straightarrow. This is interesting particularly because it doesn't require Firion to followup with Weaponsmaster, which is very unsafe on assist change. So Kuja can help Firion land a HP off Swordslash safely. The opponent also can't assist change until after chase ends, so the Straightarrow ender can help with protecting Kuja.

The other combo is Rope Knife > Double Trouble off of Snatch Blow. This can be done from any of Firion's grounded floor wall rushes (Double Trouble, Lord of Arms and the lance followup) and it's basically about being at the right distance from the opponent to land Rope Knife without pushing them out of Kuja's attack. By using Rope Knife around the start of Snatch Blow's followup, Kuja will be able to finish his attack completely while still giving the chance for Firion to follow up with Double Trouble. This goes well with damage builds, and it has depletion on par with the usual triple HP combo thanks to the likely wall rush.

ill continue playin around with The Aerith Combo and Firion is next, its really easy to figure out and i dont know how good aerith is for firion but:

anything that wallrush > aerith > charge SA > aerith > Release SA > SA

and ofc you need to wallrush with SA.
