"Cancel Attack with Ex Charge"
In Gabranth's normal mode all brave attacks (Sentence, Lunge, CoJ) have "Cancel Attack with Ex Charge" at the end of their description. So I tried doing this for all normal brave attacks, and it doesn't work for me. What exactly do you think they mean here? Did anyone have success performing it?
The way the description makes it sound like is that you should be able to execute a cancel at any point when executing the move. And I don't think it refers to the cooldown after Gabranth's brave moves as I can do any other brave attack right after or dodge.

All it really means is that you can cancel the cool-down of his attacks into EX charge so in a sense, no recovery frames. Just a small, if useful little buff tog get him into EX mode quicker.
Well that's the thing. He is not even canceling his cool down. Ex Charge doesn't cancel his cool-down. You can do any move and even dodge at about the same time so there is nothing special with Ex Charge there.

Are you sure? Because I've been using him a lot recently and canceling into EX charge is working fine for me and is much quicker than dodging and then charging ect...
Even then, it's not a big deal seeing how stupid fast he can charge his meter now. They could have left out that cancel thing entirely and I don't think it would have changed much in the grand scheme of things. Only thing I'm concerned of at the moment regarding him is finding the right accessories to keep him in EX mode long enough without compromising assist meter too much.
I have finished the testing. You can do EX Charge at the Dodge Cancel frame. For other attacks, you have to do it after all the cooldown frames, i.e not cancel-able.
Sentence's DC Frame is at 100F, return to neutral stance after 130+F
So for example, the earliest you can do the following:
Sentence > (100F) Dodge
Sentence > (100F) EX Charge
Sentence > (130+F) Lunge
Sentence > (130+F) Block/Dash/Jump/Move
