No. He's no different in difficulty to fight than before.
He's a bit more difficult to fight than before.

He's much easier to fight than before.
I haven't fought him yet.
You beat Firion by not pressing buttons.
Seriously, he will punish you whatever you do.
Seriously, Firion is absolutely broken.
The assist mechanic allows him to double every HP attack that he lands.
The arrows can be held and released at will, so it's hard to dodge them.
Assist lock on allows Firion to release the arrows on offensive assists.
All his moves wallcrushes-->assist-->Arrow
If Firion equips EXP-->HP, I do not see any way to beat him with the majority of the cast.
Firion's high tier, but for NONE of the reasons you listed.
1) EVERY cast member can assist combo off HP hits.
2) Just learn to avoid them.
3) Call an assist AFTER he shoots, or use Tidus/Yuna
4) Not all of his moves wall rush, and for any character that can wall rush, they can assist combo perfectly fine with it, so this is completely irrelevant
5) EXP > HP barely makes a difference and can be used by everyone.

Garuga already said something about it, but:
Learn the implications behind using that word before you throw it around carelessly.
Like the rest of the cast.
The difficulty in dodging an attack is completely subjective and only relative to your experience. If you haven't fought any Firions, you'll get hit by Straightarrow a lot. If you fight Firion all the time, you know how to dodge it and you don't get hit by it that much. It's that simple. In short, play more Firions.
So don't call an Assist during Straightarrow. Simple, no?
You do realize that about ninety-five percent of the cast is in possession of attacks which can Wall Rush -> Assist -> HP follow-up, right?
That's funny, because I do see a way of beating him with the majority of the cast---it's called having Firion matchup experience and knowing what to do when fighting him. EXP to HP will make absolutely no difference.

I love fighting as firion in this game: his air game has more use now. Blocking fire can be a potential death trap with shield bash, and thunder brings em back to the ground. Blizzard is a little less useful but with experience can be used for chase with guarantee'd fire hits and potential chase hp if fire does hit at the right time. Seriously, anyone who says his air game isn't great simply does not know how to use it: pressure em back down! In fact, even when the opponent is on the ground at distance, I stay away and use three fires before spamming thunder and blizzard (depending on range): waiting for them to come to you allows you to fight on your terms, and straightarrow is just plain too easy to dodge. Just a note that his air game does require a great deal of experience to master: after a while you'll know in what situations you should ue which attack. Another key feature is timing: sometimes its better to use one fire at a time instead of a three flame arts combo.
Only weakness, although this is pretty much true for every character, is the ability to be troll'd by assists ^^.
Remote Flare > Exdeath. Current testing has also shown Prishe to have an advantage against Exdeath.
Ultimecia has only one bad matchup at the moment, and that's against Lightning.
Firion's bad matchups, so far, are against Exdeath, Ultimecia, Kuja, and Tidus.
