Yeah I see that now...you positioned yourself after calling in the assist, missed that before.

I got all the WoL assists down, but I'm having trouble getting the Onion Knight assists to work. In your video, during the first OK assist when Kain does Lance Burst, it doesn't send the opponent flying when he flips off his pole to kick them. I've done it a couple times myself but I haven't figured out how to do it reliably.

Is it just a timing matter?

Yeah, all's about timing. Basically, you cancel the knockback with the AST Attack.

So after a month away from Kain, I decided to pick him back up. I went through and found info on how to create a good build for him, new assist and so forth. So here's the results...

One thing I noticed Reikou: at 1:03, when you called your Kuja Assist for the ground Wall Rush, you watched him idly and did nothing. There's actually a lot of things you can do during his attack that will allow you to still get the chase teleport afterwards. Right after you call him, dodge and you can do Crashing Dive (immediately neutral dodge after Crashing Dive finishes so you can get the teleport in time to do Rising Drive). Alternatively, you can do the first phase of Lance Burst. You can also do a timed Jump (wait for him to pull them back in but before the final phase with the orbs moving everywhere) and then do Rising Drive on the teleport for extra criticals (since you'll be at low BRV after Jump). The last one that comes to mind is Sky Rave which would be done in the same manner as Crashing Dive.

This. You could use Cyclone too, but it'll be useless IMO since they're better moves like CD, LB, DF, SR, etc.
