Hi everyone,
This thread is devoted to lady summoner's difficult matchups and ideas to ease them.
Kuja:
I'm starting to get the feeling that Kuja has a high amount of advantage against Yuna,
the same way he had a high advantage against Emperor in Dissidia1.
A lot of moves simply cannot reach/hit an evasive Kuja.
All of Yuna's HP attacks are unable to reach high in the air or very far.
But Kuja, can punish all of Yuna's attacks with both Seraphic Star and Ultima.
This matchup is so depressing that it seems the only way for Yuna to win is to rely heavily on chase sequences/EX revenge/Assist HP attacks or other gimmicks.
If there are any strategies against Kuja that you guys came up with, please let me in.
I really want to use her but I currently can't find a way around this high gliding menace!
Thanks

I've been working hard to solve this matchup
It seems the best way to deal with Kuja is to make Yuna be a pure assist build character.
Tidus seems to be a good choice, as his hopstep allows Yuna to connect Diamond Dust to almost any attack.
Free Air Dash Boost is a must to catch Kuja.
Ultima is punishable by Aerial Valefore--->hopestep assist-->Diamond Dust
What about Yuna vs. Sephiroth? His close and mid-range attacks are too quick for Yuna, and at a distance, Shadow Flare has better range and speed than any of Yuna's zoning techniques...
I haven't met that many sephiroth players,
But I can say that he's no where as fast as kuja.
His moves are still punishable by aerial Valefore combo
i dont play with any very very very vey very good sephiroths, i have played with a few but you sort of have the basic idea here. sephy pretty much makes yuna's job pretty hard. ive still yet to develop a gameplan yet![]()
so why dont we start now? hahas
on that note, neoghaloen, do you mind if this becomes the general matchup and discussion thread? topic name change are in order etc if you agree![]()

That's a great idea shakotan.
I'm not sure how to change the title though...if someone can help me do that.
it should just be when you edit your post, then press go advanced. there should be a box up the top to change it.

Yes, I did that...
All that did was give my first post a pretty Header in Bold....
It doesn't change the subject
Nope, Yuna doesn't really have it difficult against Kuja. If the character has a fast attack with low lag, you're set to go against Kuja.
(Well, sort of)
Tier whoring since August 2010 | Unnecessary information:
Spoiler:Spoiler:
30 seconds in I can already point out mistakes that kuja (Lycoris) made. I've seen him play bery well, but I don't think he had enough experience vs Yuna. It is completely wrong to Chase DC for a Burst Energy against a character with an attack =/ or under 20 or so frames. He also spammed snatch flare a bit too much, allowing for easy punishes. Also, even it goes by current meta-game, I've found omitting strike energy or burst energy (preferably keeping burst) is a fine enough replacement for remote flare/sntach blow/ring holy as a punisher. Normally against Yuna I would recomend: Sntach shots, Burst energy, remote flare- as Yuna can't punish you easily, nor can she safely zone. Jecht assist punishing dodges and kuja locking assists often can turn him into a nightmare and an offensive punisher for almost all frequently zoning characters. Also Seraphic>Flare star, in Yuna matchup-
IMO on the whole paragraph
