Zidane could make a fine adition indeed. Now how to combo Thundaga with him, I'm clueless about it...
I can't wait to see your idea in action man... Keep it up...

I'm not sure if Zidane would be so good. His aerial assist isn't all that brilliant, and most of Garland's assist opportunities lie in the air.

Have you considered Jecht also ? I'm not a Garland player, just saying...
Ive found it works pretty good if you want to combo some of garlands strong ground attacks not as long thought as most of sephy or kujas combos thought.

So I tried a bunch of different assists that follow the Thundaga knockback direction (Zidane, WoL, Cecil, Onion Knight), and despite all efforts, none of them could combo off of Thundaga in time before Auto Recovery kicked in. The closest I got to was with WoL with Rising Buckler, and had it been about 2F faster, it would have worked 100% of the time. Zidane was able to connect sometimes, but his vertical reach in his aerial BRV was a little short. OK had the same problem as Zidane. Cecil was able to hit a bit easier near walls than Zidane and OK, but outside of that, it was just like WoL, about 2-3F too slow. The most reliable method of landing an assist after testing pretty much every character was using Kuja's ground BRV (which I demonstrated in my combo video), which works pretty much 100% of the time when the opponent is locked in a corner (and about 25% of the time near walls). It usually comes down to where Kuja spawns when summoned.

Basically, Thundaga cannot be used to start assist combos except by certain characters (best ones are by far Kuja (ground BRV) and WoL (midair)) and in specific spots of the maps. Usually the ceiling and corners are the best spots.

How about as an ender? You have many options if you consider Thundaga as an Ender.
It's ortodox, I know, but hey, if connected properly, Thundaga's DMG is beast...

By ender do you mean linking with an assist HP attack? I highly doubt it would work, and the only one I could possibly think of being fast enough is Gilgamesh's Hurricane.

Or do you mean "ender" as in a combo finisher? Even if all three bolts connect, the damage multiplier total for the attack is 30, the same as Twist Drill. Also put into consideration that many players use Muscle Belt, and Twist Drill is superior in all fronts.

So I just discovered something modestly cool. Yuna's Heavenly Strike will 100% hit the opponent if two bolts from Thundaga connect. It looks like her link glitch also works when she is an assist.

I will further investigate Yuna as an assist option for Garland. If I find some good combos, I'll make a video possibly since the link glitch is pretty sweet.

Edit: I also finished testing every assist possible with Garland (ground BRV, midair BRV, and both HP attack), and not one could combo off of one Thundaga bolt without a wall/corner.

No, by thundaga as an ender he means using thundaga where you would assist chase and then following up with an attack. IF all three thundagas hit, then just about any of Garland's air attacks can be used after.
Of course this only works in a corner though...

It doesn't work as an ender in that sense... BUT, after some more testing with Yuna after the Thundaga link discovery, I have found a combo that does exactly what you are telling me here (except it doesn't require an assist chase).

Lance Charge (first input) > Yuna Assist > Lance Charge (enter second input) > WR > Thundaga > Flare

This works because since the first part of Lance Charge moves the opponent in the air, you can activate Yuna's aerial assist, which wall rushes to the ground. If the opponent is next to wall/corner, then the three thundaga bolts all will hit and Flare can be connected. I have already tested this and a few other things. I do believe I have found something in terms of "fancy" combos for Garland using Yuna. I'll keep you guys updated as I continue to investigate. It does look VERY promising for matches on wall filled maps (such as Kefka's Tower, Prima Vista, Pandamonium, and Phantom Train.

You are never supposed to take the assist chase. An example of what you do is:
    ( -Cornered Opponent- ) -> Thundaga -> Chain Cast -> Chase DC -> Bardich -> Kuja+Bardichx2 -> Flare+WR
    or
( -Cornered Opponent- ) -> Thundaga -> Chain Cast -> Chase DC -> Twin Swords -> Kuja -> Thundaga -> Chain Cast -> Twin Blades

They work but the timing is extremely strict to the point that I rarely get to you them in PvP; mostly the whole Cornered Opponent thing... But the damage is ridiculous.

Edit: "Lance Charge (first input) > Yuna Assist > Lance Charge (enter second input) > WR > Thundaga > Flare"
... I'm curious to see this.
