    Default Good Assists for Kain?

    Howdy everyone!

I'm not that great with Kain, but I like building up a decent bit of skill with every character, so I was wondering what assists best suit Kain? The stickied Kain "guide" only seems to address Cecil as an assist so far, so it'd be nice to hear some other opinions.

By default, I usually run Aerith. He has a lot of attacks that can wall rush, so it's nice to, say, smash an opponent against a wall, trap with Seal Evil, and then land a Sky Rave or Rising Drive, based on how close to the floor or ceiling they are.

So any thoughts on other good assists for Kain?

Kuja, in fact, is the best with Kain, and I'm guessing everyone will agree with me on this.
Spiral Shooter, which is fast, has a huge wall rush rate, which makes Kuja easy to use. Here are his combos+wall rushes:
    Spiral Shooter>Assist>Rising Drive
    Lance Barrage>Assist>Rising Drive
Diving whatever (his downward aerial attack)>assist>Rising Drive
    Jump>Kuja assist IMMEDIATELY>Rising Drive
    Dragon's Fang(wall rush)>assist>Rising Drive
    Sky Rave>Kuja assist IMMEDIATELY>Rising Drive
Celestial Shooter (ceiling wall rush)>Assist>Sky Rave (my personal favorite)
    Rising Drive>Assist>Sky Rave

    He's a warmonger with Kuja.

There's also Sephiroth, but you're limited really. It's basically all of those combos, except replace the Sky Rave or Rising Drive at the very end of the combo with Dragon's Fang (straight up HP attack) or Gungnir (Since Sephiroth launches opponent to the side)

    I'd say Aerith, hands down.
I defeated time attack mode Ultimecia in no time with Seal Evil, Rising Drive and Sky Rave. They combo all together perfectly.

Kuja. There is just too much win there.

Aerith's good, too, with her defensive options. I still prefer Kuja.

Granted, Kuja is quite possibly the best assist period.

Cecil isn't bad, but takes more work to get going. Aerith is good too, as is Sephiroth. Though, we've just listed most of the actual decent assists in the game anyway.

    Kuja.

Kain's attack cause the opponent to dodge....something Kuja can exploit which means Kain gets a free Rising Dive.

I can agree that Aerith is definitely a good Kain assist. Wall rush, Seal Evil, free Rising Drive or Sky Rave! Not to mention, Holy is amazing, and Planet Protector has its merits.

... But Kuja does the same thing with more damage and better punishing capabilities. Kuja's attack animations are long enough to stun the enemy for a free HP attack (all while doing more Brave damage), and are speedy enough that they play well into Kain's punishment game. So, huzzah!

Seems like Kuja's probably the best overall. I like Aerith a lot, though. I can't say I'm fond of Cecil just because Dark Lance just... Doesn't really do it for me. Dunno why, just doesn't.

I would say Cecil is a horrible assist for Kain. Cecil floor rushes with his RW and wall rushes too far and too quick with SL. Kain wol work way better with Kuja because playing as Kain you really shouldn't be loafing on the ground too long so your assist combos should be executed in the air(assuming). With Kuja you can do anything in the air with Kain, you only need the right timing.

Aerith, does no damage. True she traps them from mobility, but what good does that do except an easy HP attack? Kuja is already a sure HP link and actually deals damage. Aerith I'm my opinion is a beginner's assist character.
