Dissidia 012 DLC Discussion/Speculation

PSN+ was worth it for the 6 months I had it. Really, if you buy the yearly one for $50, you're still getting ~$100 worth of free games, tons of money off discounts being saved, demos, free add-ons, etc. i liked it, just didn't want to go through the trouble of rebuying.

Hey I got a question that I've been wondering for a while... Can the players on Ad Hoc Party see your DLC or do they just see the normal look for a character? I'm wondering because of all the online battles I've played, I've never once saw any characters with DLC.

If they equipped their characters with the DLCed outfits for the match and you have them installed on your memory stick as well, then yes, you can see them. These are the two requirements.

So pretty much both players have to have them. No wonder I'm not seeing other DLCs. I only have Cloud's DLC, and it's always equipped, and every time I've fought against another cloud online I never see his DLC... Leads me to believe not many people have or actually use his best outfit(imo)...and that's sad.

So I've been wondering...

What will we get for Ultimecia?

A few people have said Adell... I'd say no chance, seeing as she's manly, ten foot and we have no proof she was ever actually being controlled by Ultimecia, just speculation.
Others have said Rinoa... Also not likely. That would just make the R=U theorist die of squee attacks, plus a Rinoa under Ultimecia's control seems to walk like a zombie.

However...I think we have three possibilities.

One, a sorceress costume. I.e, one of the witches that are fought during the opening sequences of time compression. http://finalfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Sorceress_(1)

Two, COSMOS! Many of us are still sore after Cosmos not being available in any playable or battle ready form, not even an assist!
So this seems just perfect. Not only does Cosmos have a very similar size/figure and dress to the Ultimecia/Edea models, but Ultimecia takes on her form in the actual Dissidia storyline.
On the other hand, it might seem odd to make Cosmos a Chaos player, and really it's not at all relevent to FF8's story, which is what some people might like. Not to mention the fact that the Cosmos model exists in game, which some might say means it wouldn't be a DLC at all as it requires minimal effort on the developers part.

Or three, an original, costume in the same vein as the Kuja/Vaan DLC. Whereby a character has so little outside their canon alternate costumes that they ask the creator to dream something up on a given scenario. For example a 'young Ultimecia before she was a sorceress' or a 'Princess of Esthar' costume.

Thats another thing, the Ex-modes for the DLC thus far have been REALLY boring. As in they've barely changed from the original ex-modes even though some 3P costumes manage to do that. Does this mean we're out of luck for a 'Final form Ultimecia' ex mode?
I mean, they'd have to edit out the 'COME GRIEVER!' after all...

Adel is the most likely, all things considered. Pretty sure she was being possesed, from what I recall (Ultimecia possesed her after she lost Edea, if I remember correctly).

Though I agree final form Ultimecia NEEDS to be her EX mode for one of her costumes...!

For Tidus, I reckon his future DLC costume will be Shuyin definitely. I mean, is there really any other?

I bet the rest of the characters costumes will be based of their original art or something different like Tidus shirtless costume

Shuyin would be pretty cool, better than his 2nd alt that makes him look like a starving child in Africa O.o

I just bought FFIV: Complete collection (Deluxe edition) or w/ever its called and got the code for Cecils DLC costume buuuuuuuuuut the dam psn is still down so i cant even use it till its back up *sigh* ah well i guess i can just enjoy FFIV and after years for now.

Also the deluxe edition came with a screen cloth! with a picture of cecil on it! definitely worth the $90 i payed for it.

Matron. It makes the most sense. Plus, they just have to rework Edea Alt a bit.

And just for the record, I am officially stoked for Emperor of Heaven.
