Good moveset for Vaan?

I typically change up my moveset based on the matchup. What works against one doesn't always work as well against another. Taking into consideration aggression levels, assist building, EX generation, covers, priority, and speed are all important factors when choosing Vaan's moves for a certain matchup. Learn to be comfortable with just about everything and anything.

I see. No wonder i am confused what is good for me. Well then i guess i will do that then :O.

Editted: Thanks that is useful advice. I just played around with all the moves, all of them are useful to me, except staff doesnt fit me. I dont play online btw cause no ps3 and the other method using my computer to connect has failed me many times so given up for now.

Omg and i love sword and shield, but axe is good, but i guess i can always switch them around.
This is the set up i am liking so far.

Ground:
Neutral- Katana
Forward- Spear
Away- crossbow

Air:
Neutral- Greatsword
Forward- Sword and shield / Axe shield
Away- Rifle / crossbow

Basically i only change the sword and axe i love them both to be fair but each i am sure its good for different opponents. Crossbow is a question mark, but i heard it can be useful too, but i prefer rile in air. However on ground i want crossbow to get them into the air, of course katana can do that too .

Har har i might try staff air xD, be unique once i get better with vann.
