    I've noticed while fighting Chaos, if you use Blasting Zone right off the bat, it will connect, which is pretty useful.

    It makes Squall the easiest character to farm AP on. And Emperor the second easiest, as Chaos is an idiot.

    Chaos has a tendency of starting the battle with an attack. Most of the time even Squall's revolver drive will go through them. If he doesn't start off with an attack, he will obviously dodge out of the way. However, it's not a bad tactic to use against a level 1 Chaos when farming for AP. In fact, it ought to save a lot of time.

    In my experience, it is best to wait for Chaos to make the first move. As most of his HP attacks are easily read, you only have to worry about his brave attacks, although, give enough practice (you WILL lose to him a lot), you can get a "feel" of when he's about to attack you. I recommend blocking instead of dodging his attacks, (both brave and HP, where possible of course), since they tend to have a large AOE. For this reason it is important to have the reposte ability equipped.

    A couple of specific pointers though,

    If his brave is high enough (usually around 3000), he WILL most likely often than not spam Condemn, straight after recovering from other attacks (from either him OR you). As a result, I recommend waiting a couple of seconds after each attack executes (from him OR you) whilst keeping your distance from him. STAY GROUNDED. By reflex you might accidentally dodge JUST as Condemn comes out, allowing you to get sucked in and get hit by it if you're in the air. At least if you're on the ground, you will have better traction, and it'll be a little harder to pull you in. Note also that he will also use Condemn (with enough brave) if you get too close to him. So try not to dash towards him and keep your distance when he has high brave. Instead, look for openings and counterattack to lower this brave. Again, note that Condemn will occur very suddenly and often after an attack when his brave is over 3k.

    If you're using omni air dash with Squall, and he does that Soul of Oblivion attack, it can sometimes be a bit hard to hit him in time. For this I recommend a magic attack if he's close enough to the ground, or just do an ARD - its a free wall rush, plus if you have enough brave and ex, you can burst him as well.

    Not sure if this was mentioned earlier, but if you hear his audio cue "You are weak!", for Divine Punishment, STOP MOVING AT ONCE. If you're in the air, just let yourself drop. You have to wait like a second for the surrounding flames to stop before you dodge (roll) out of the way - after that you have about half a second to dodge out before getting hit. This attack deals massive brave dmg, and wall rushes you as well. If you ever find yourself getting hit by it, ex guard if you can. I should mention that some characters (like Terra) can block the flames and swords (Tornado in her case), allowing you more time to counterattack/dodge. For Squall however, just focus on reading the start of the attack and dodging it. Note that (at least for me), its harder to judge in the air when the flames stop, so IMO, its harder to dodge Divine Punishment overall if you're stuck in the air, which is why I suggested dropping to the ground. However, if you're on the ground, you may have to dodge it twice (straight after the first dodge), since it has quite a big AOE. If you have the chance, backflip instead of backstepping for your dodge. This will allow you a chance to beat fang or mystic flurry him. In the air, the spear has a really low AOE and unless you are pretty much touching it, it won't hit you. Of course, this will only happen if you dodge it midair. I recommend you get better at dodging the ground one before you try to dodge it in the air.

    With Shinryuu, I recommend sealing him with Ramuh just before you are about to win. Shinryuu will activate about 80% of the time whenever either YOU or Chaos has enough brave to one hit kill the other. You have to judge when your (or Chaos') brave is about to reach this level in order to summon and seal at a good time. On his second form, the Omega summon appears about 20% of the time once you hit enough brave to OHK him, and for his third form, I'd say about 70% of the time this will occur. Other times, its usually Ultima which is summoned, so that gives you some time to spend your brave. Seeing as Shinryuu is also not considered a summon per-se, you can equip the opponent unsummoned booster for an extra boost. As for specific Squall advice, like the previous poster said, DO NOT HP spam. You'll often get instantly broken the second Chaos recovers. Instead, since you're using Squall, try out the 9999 brave OHK build (There's a guide in this board I believe). Due to the frequency of Omega appearing on the third form, I recommend HP attacking him when he has full hp and you have around 500 less brave than this (NOT at his full HP, as this will trigger Shinryuu), then ex bursting him to finish the job. Nothing more satisfying that seeing him explode with Lionheart after a tough three battles ;D If you DO get hit with Omega however, beat fang spam him or HP attack spam him (when your brave is at near break status of course) to keep your brave up. Alternatively, you could break him whilst Omega'ed to prevent yourself from getting broken by him while you have low brave.

    In regards to what Spyder mentioned, Chaos is a really good opponent to AP farm from. Of course, this will only be effective once you have mastered how to dodge his every move (which IS possible. I've had games where I haven't taken a single hit from him, although I'll admit this hardly occurs due to his brave melee spam - especially that annoying teleport one...which I always dodge on instinct and get hit...rather than block T_T)

    Whew. Long post. Hope that was helpful.

    If you want to beat him really easily.
    Wall rush him to the floor then go high up, then he will charge at you, block it and attack, then again he will charge, block and attack.
    That's the easiest way to beat him (At least for me)

    In other words...
    Wall rush Chaos --> go up--> Chaos will charge --> Block it -->attack after block -->Charge-->block--> attack-->charge--> block--> attack... etc

    This works for all characters BTW.

    Yeah, I've noticed that too. Its broken when it works . Although I should mention that its only really possible to do the block trick on his first two forms. Beyond that (ie 3rd form) he doesn't really charge at you anymore.

    for chaos its really all bout blocking, dodging, an noing wen to attack. his fiery attack were he spins can be blocked, he doesnt stagger from it but it can be blocked. all of his regular brv attacks can be, the only one u got to look out for his the one were he coms falling from the sky and maks the rocks come from the ground, if blocked it maks u stagger and if hes close enough u stagger and get hit so if ur far enough u can sort of block, or just entirely dodge it (most logical thing to do lol). for hp attacks if u no them they r actually pretty easy to dodge. just do wat pretty much everyone else already said with divine punishment and everything else..............

    What I did use is this equips and accessories:
    Weapon: HEaven's Cloud
    Armor: Maximillian
    Arm guard: Blurry moon (+1 ATK)
    Headgear: Super Ribbon or Hairpin (anything that has -370HP)

    Accessories:
    gaia Ring
    Pearl Necklace
    Gravitorb
    Champions belt
    HP=100%
    Hp multiple of 5
    Large gap in BRV
    Summon Unused
    Foe=100%
    Full Ex gauge or Close to you

    ->you have a high enough multiplier to sustain yourself always a full ex gauge to always ex guard and eat his BRv with Ex mode Lionheart. Also, Iai Strike somewhat is very effective against him. Also try to use resins and incenses if you wanna stay in ex mode to totally kill his BRV with Crits.

    Also, try to learn how to dodge his attacks especially divine punishment which you have trouble with. The others have explained how to dodge those so keep practicing against a level 100 chaos. sometimes it is better to learn how to dodge and block his attacks rather than a good equip setp up.

    Prepare for glory!

    I know this is probably known by now or not worth mentioning if it isn't, but Aerial Circle/Fated Circle can go through that spinning fire brave attack that he does.
