The counter from of Almagest says Magic Block as a side effect. I'm not sure how strong of a block it actually is, as I tend to just dodge attacks I have trouble blocking, like Comet. I didn't know you could counter Innocence like that. I'll give Omni Block+Almagest a shot with Comet. If it blocks magic HP damage, like Innocence, it should actually work...
Oh, and what about ExDeath's Maelstrom? I don't think its blockable. I've seen attacks break it (Havoc Wing, specifically. Just as the tornado formed, the wings broke it), but I would doubt it can be Omni-Blocked.
EDIT: It works with comet. Almagest (counter) lets you plow right through the attack. Nearly died trying, but it worked :P

Test Maelstrom against another Exdeath holding up a Turn Guard. Since it's considered a Ranged High priority attack, it should Guard Crush Turn Guard, as well as be broken by any Melee HP attack that can get started (Like the Havoc Wing you mentioned before).

Though apart, forever connected.

Spoiler:
Maelstrom can be Omni Blocked. But it'll Guard Crush Turn Guard, and I think it'lss stagger Shell Guard.
The only attacks that stop Maelstrom are High priority. Otherwise, Maelstrom beats it out. It isn't actually BLOCKED by anything, it just collides with an attack of equal priority and dies.

It would definitely crush Turn Guard. It doesn't help against any HP attack I've ever seen. Hi Block was so much better...
Honestly, I unequipped it for quite awhile because I either stagger or get crushed against pretty much any physical attack that isn't from OK or Squall. It still works great for magic, so I run Protect Guard, Omni Block and Turn Guard on Ground and air. Shmeckie (I love the name) here sounds right.
Oh, and I got around to testing Kuja's Ultima. Almagest will indeed block the attack, so even if Kuja's out of reach it will at least move you out of the danger zone. I haven't tried Zidane's Shift Break (lightning and water, I think that's the right one), but I would guess that you could block the lightning and just Almagest through everything else.
My dissidia ignorance is the price I pay for being completely swamped by my previous job. Alas.
Also, Ultimecia's Apocalypse isn't on the unblockable list. I found it odd, either I'm either not doing it right or I'm imagining something. Omni-blocking Apocalypse doest just that; block it. But it won't allow you to counter. I don't even see the turqoise "Block" notification you usually get. What's up with that?
I think I remember Ujhbn mentioning a while back that Apocalypse was glitched or something. You could block it, but for some reason it won't register for a counter attack. Just something wrong in the games code that doesn't allow it to be registered the same way as other moves so it's glitch and will just be a fruitless effort.

Does anyone know if there is any brave assist that Exdeath's Turn Guard cannot block?
Squall's aerial assist, Warrior of Light's ground assist, Terra's ground assist, Ultimecia's aerial assist, Emperor's groiund assist, Shantotto's ground assist.
