    Default Assists for Golbez

Why is there no Golbez assist thread?

Anyway, I've been using Emperor as an assist to Golbez, as already stated that Emperor is dependent on Golbez's position, and Thunder Crest and Mines eats 1/4th of the EX bar, Damaging in 6999 Rules(esp. Mines) and gives Golbez many more tools to pressure, I'll give my Emperor combos.

So, my combos for him. I had'nt touched comboing with Empy's HP attacks.

-Thunder Crest >[Near Crest] Glare Hand >[Enemy trapped] Rise Wave(Far) >Cosmic Ray

    -Attack System(ground) > Float System(Wall Rush)> Mine >[AC] Float System > Cosmic Ray

-Gravity Force(near Ground) > Thunder Crest >[Trapped] Gravity Force.

In MY opinion, the best assist for golbez is Jecht, you can connect it from any attack that wallrushes (practically all of his attacks)
and you can also connect him in the first part of some attacks, like the first part of grav syst. and rise wave

this assist is very usefull because it gives you time to prepare your next attack, it takes loads of brv, is very usefull for his Grav force link glitch, and it can floorush from mostly any height, so if you attack the opponent with nightglow, and send him flying towards the ceiling, you can call jecht and he will throw them right back to the ground and you can continue with ANY of Golbez's attaks

There IS a Golbez combo thread, go check it out, It has some fun combos

I've been experimenting using Kuja and the Gravity Force set-up from a wall rush. I saw some info for using assists with Bitter End on stages with little room for wall rush, and tried to incorporate it to Cosmic Ray (it has a similar wall rush knockback).

Any Cosmic Ray setup move -> Cosmic Ray -> Kuja assist (between the 2nd and 3rd hit of Cosmic Ray) -> Assist Chase -> Gravity Force

This won't allow you to do the link glitch from Float/Gravity System, but it should deal quite a bit of damage with all the auto-crits (your BRV should still be low from the Cosmic Ray you used to set this combo up with).

The normal Kuja assist I use off of wall rushes is:
Wall Rush -> Kuja Assist -> dodge back + start Gravity Force.

It usually gives me enough room that I'll do the far follow-up (the backhand slap) which shouldn't miss. From there you can start the link glitch and try to catch the opponent with Cosmic Ray from what should be another side of the arena.

    Though apart, forever connected.

I've experimented with Kuja and Jecht, and I guess they're bothe equally good. I like Jecht because even without a floor you can still combo. I like Kuja because you get a sure combo anywhere.
Though, I have to say it depends on your build? Mine has grounded, and when assist chase happens, you're no longer on the ground. So, I guess that's mainly a deciding factor between Pro-KujaAssist and Pro-JechtAssist.

There are nbo walls near you to walll rush from, and no floor in the space where Jecht's going to be..
    Example:
    Glare Hand>Jecht>Rising Wave>Cosmic Ray
Glare Hand>Jecht>Sector Ray while in the near end phases

Eh, I don't like catching them with Kuja while doing cosmic ray, there is too much room for error. If I use Kuja and do what you mentioned, I just catch them as soon as gravity system stops doing damage, then link into Grav force > genesis rock. That tends to do a fuck ton of damage.

It's a lot more efficient I found, same with wall rushing them with gravity/float system and THEN using Kuja assist.

I'll have to experiment with other assists including Jecht for the no wall Cosmic Ray combos. Like I said in the posts above, I'd been using Kuja for the same idea :P I just haven't had time to mess around any more with it than I have already. I've taken to using Sephiroth for my WoL Bitter End combo that follows the same vein, but I find that Sephiroth moves too quickly to be useful for Golbez. The trajectory Kuja gives you is very beneficial Jecht will be next on my list (for stages like Order's Sanctuary, where there's a lot of floor but a lot of room between walls).

I'll have to give that a try, but for now I'm fairly confident I can pull it off with Kuja. I like the Cosmic Ray combo simply for the fact that being in a recovering status for your BRV gives you the auto crits.

Why thank you, I actually made that video in replay to some other user on the forum who originally discovered it, but used cosmic ray and THEN caught them with Kuja before it ended. I didn't like ti because there was too much risk in having em fly off before kuja catches them, so I refined it to be more foolproof
