Bandwagon time!

Well we do kinda need a thread for this. So, discuss, but please no speculative spam, if you are going to give matchups they need to be based on PVP.

I will update this post with matchups once they have been proven and decided, then I'll put them in my guide as well :3

In my playstyle, Cloud goes defensive on ground, while offensive in air. So I guess there's a great matchup difference between ground characters in favor of Cloud.

I think Cloud has some problems with Lightning, and Wol, both of them seem to have the advantage over Cloud, in the all around section. Although Lightning, can be dealt with a bit easier :P. I think the the match ups go like this 4:6 ( Cloud vs Lightning) 3:7 ( Cloud vs WOL). /inb4 Exdeath and Trolliroth

I've found ExDeath easy with an EX build.

WoL is (from my experience) a hard match for Cloud, but I would put him and Light at about equal, slightly towards Light.

I haven't played a good Sephiroth before.

Not sure about the whole Exdeath easy with ex build .-., but yeah WOL can, really hurt Cloud bad. And, yeah Lightning is slightly more favorable.

I actually don't think the WoL matchup is that bad, I mean, I've never fought RDF or K'Gen, but I've still never struggled against one really. And there's no way that Cloud lightning is 3:7, maybe 4:6, but I really can't see it being 3:7.

But anyway, as for favourable matchups, to hazzard a guess:
*Shantotto, this one is probably very favourable for Cloud.
*Gabranth, this is alot more even once Gabranth is in ExMode, but he's destroyed by an assist Cloud with some good timing skeels.
*Garland, Thundaga(thunder?) and Cyclone may be the only things that are hard to deal with from Garland.
*The Emperor, this one is debatable because he's pretty easy to beat (even a good one) with assists (as he is for most) and liberal use of DC and Blade Beam.
*Firion, even more debatable thanks to shield bash, but the lack of air game and Cloud's air game boost probably knocks this one over to Cloud a little bit.

I'd like to say that people like CoD and Bartz are pretty favourable as well but in my limited online experience I haven't really fought a good one of either of those.

Yeah, 4:6 my bad xD. I'm also pretty sure Bartz has the advantage over Cloud. ( Haven't tested) Bartz has variety of moves such as holy, and that reel axe combo xD. Even though it dodgable, I can still see Cloud having trouble, even in a close up fight Bartz has the advantage. I find Tifa, so so. Jecht can destroy Cloud, god everytime I fight a good Jecht, I get scared @.@. Vaan is pretty hard to deal with too :s. But I think Cloud, doesn't really have problems against Empy, Golbez, or Gabby :P.

How can a matchup be 5:7? c.c Usually, numbers for a matchup are 10 in total, distributed between the two characters. So we can only have things like 10-0, 9-1, 8-2, 7-3, 6-4 and 5-5. 5-7 (12 total) is just silly.

Occasionally the number will be multiplied by 10 (so it'd be something like 70-30, for example), but it's still the same concept. And sometimes it can be something like 5.5-4.5 or 55-45, but it's still the same concept.

Tidus? It can be like 6:4.

I hate Bartz, it's unfair ;w;, Holy wasn't nerfed for Bartz, but Holy combo was nerfed for Terra D<.. /Back on topic Iunno, Cloud doesn't really have to much of a problem with Bartz. I'd say it's probably 5:5 or 4:6
