We cheat Death from his rightful victory. No one can defeat us. We are glad to plunge feet first into Hell in the knowledge that we will rise.
~Cookies~The only thing worse than the disney channel is getting a root canal without anaesthetic from Hitler.
Onion Knight doesn't have a bad EX mode. His physical attacks deal nearly double damage (slightly more then double with his HP moves), and his magical attacks gain both increased damage and an increase in range. Firaga, for example, launches three fireballs instead of one, Blizzard has better tracking and range, Thunder launches more thunder balls, making it harder to dodge, and Comet...is still unimpressive, but still deals (slightly) more then double damage compared to outside of EX mode. Onion Knight definitely has one of the more useful EX modes.
Calling Onion Knight easy to read is far from false, but that's where the player's ability to see openings in their opponent's actions comes in.
(I actually haven't played very much, by the time of that video, I had been on AHP for three days) As you can see, I punish landing lag, dodging, and manage to interrupt Flips' attacks by attacking as he does. 13 frame attacks are nice for that purpose. Onion Knight can make up for his easy to read attacks by finding openings to use them.
I have no idea if any of this is relevant to the topic, however...I suppose it's a matter of interpretation...

How does OK fair against Feral Chaos?
I know with Speed Boost++ equipped, he can outrun Via Dolorosa, and he doesn't really need to worry about getting his dodges punished by it.

I haven't had much experience fighting Feral Chaos, but one thing I DID notice is that Feral Chaos' attacks are huge - compared to the short distance Onion Knight can make when he attacks, it's very possible to end up coming up short when trying to land melee punishes against Feral Chaos. That's my observation on the subject anyway.
As stated, OK's EX Mode is far from 'bad'. He might be one of the characters that most benefits from getting into EX Mode, for that matter - I've found that he has a very 'meh' brave game without it.
Wish I could find the tournament matchup that was SOMEWHERE. Had Onion Knight kicking the crap out of people one by one, especially in a match in the Phantom Train where his short range didn't really matter and his wallrushes were everywhere. But god, trying to track down old tournament videos on YouTube is... arse.
...Either way I'm not sure I feel experienced enough to really say much on particular matchups, especially not right now @_@ When I'm more lucid I might be able to give better ideas of things but yeah - at most it'd be generally just "I think it's a little in favour of x" with very little actual reasoning @_@

Long story short, OK has a great EX mode and nobody knows what that guy was smoking xD. But I guess since the main point is matchups, ill try to talk more about that.
Whenever I play OK, my experience is that he does the best in smaller stages obv, because he attacks so quickly, the amount of pressure he can provide is astounding. Two people that come to mind that he would have an advantage over are Cloud and Firion. Only problem with Firion however is you must keep a level head, because shield bash and his lance follow-up are good tools to kill OK.
PSN: Drekiden, I play in the Armored Core V team Cross Gaurd, owners of the desert and elite battalion.
Whoever said his EX Mode was bad needed a slap...
Well seeing as how he can damage you a lot (Compared to his Regular) in EX Mode and now that his Melee Attacks are 13F.....Well you do the math![]()

Heck with 13F, he has an 11F attack. :P
Also Firaga is amazing in Phantom Train. EX Mode Firaga is barbeque sauce on barbequed ribs.
From my little experience in playing Onion Knight he is great against opponents who attack with projectives. Especially if he can dash through them. For example terra. Onion Knight can dash through every brv attacks she throws and punish her before she can dodge. Due to his speed he can easily close on the opponent so i think characters who fight from a distance are easy prey for an Onion Knight
