Tutorial was awesome. Locking down what should be an easy match up.
Or, if you want to guarantee a hit, just assist-punish the bitch while straightarrow is being charged. It has hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiigh cooldown

Auto Assist Lock On says hi. Unless you mean after he fires the arrow, in which case yeah. Though one won't always have assist, and a good Firion shouldn't be using stuff like Straightarrow when the opponent has assist. (Unfortunately I'm being a hypocrite here since apparently I'm not good.)

Funny informative guide (not to me personally because I can't play Exdeath for S#@!)

How can it miss if it could just be held until Firion turns around enough? Then again, I didn't have this happen to me very often so I can't tell if Straightarrow would miss in these kinds of situations.
Besides, I'd think it's more profitable to call assist after Firion fires the arrow, when you can get hit by it on purpose and have the assist score a unescapable break on Firion, especially if the assist is fast. But I guess this isn't good if Firion has killing BRV. ...Oh wait, maybe it's because Exdeath has to followup the assist before the assist chase or wall rush? I'm not sure, I can't speak for Exdeath since I don't play him and I don't have much experience against him. I'm sorry if I'm wrong. But this should work for most characters.

So, what if said Firion player dashes up to you and straightarrows or swordslashes you?
No, sir.
Auto Assist Lock On is godlike in this aspect. The moment they summon the assist, you shift targets. And by "the moment they summon the assist" I mean "the very fraction of a second that they press L+O."
Basically, if you're charging Straightarrow and they summon, Firion will shift direction instantly. Any character will turn to face the assist with the Auto Assist Lock On ability from the moment L+O is pressed.
Furthermore, Assist Auto Lock On will take immediate effect even in the middle of an attack. You could be using Thunder Barret as Squall and as the bolts appear and an assist is summoned, if you have that ability on, the bolts will just respawn on the Assist as the ability takes effect. If that's not enough proof for you, try it with Sephiroth's Shadow Flare. When an Assist is summoned during Shadow Flare and Sephiroth has Assist Auto Lock On, an entire second copy of Shadow Flare itself is made to attack the assist.
If you release the square button during the game's induced momentary slowdown when an Assist is summoned, Straightarrow will shoot out before they can even attack.
So, yeah. Point I'm trying to make is if you're going to Assist Punish someone who's running Assist Auto Lock On, it better be well into the attack or directly after. Don't even think about doing it beforehand.
