Ex? Assist? NEITHER! Wait.. What?!

Last time I played Zidane was way back in DFF and I just got him to lvl 100 this morning (Actually I used to main him in DFF before I started maining Exdeath). Testing him out further got me scratching my head, I can't decide which between Ex and Assists does he benefit from the most.

So we all know that Zidane's exclusive Ex bonus ([Dodge Jump - Invincibility frames while jumping] and [Aerial Jump - +10 Jumps. Seriously. TEN JUMPS.]) are not as grand as the others and doesn't support him offensively (Well IMO at least). Be that as it may, it's still a great way to hop away to safety.

On a side note, I find that he doesn't have that much combo potential with assists other than basic combos unlike the other characters. Although he does however benefit greatly from punishing dodges and whiffed attacks with it (e.g Shift Break -> Opponent dodges -> Zidane calls out an assist -> WIN )

Now here's lies the purpose of this thread, what do YOU think of the matter? Would you go with an Ex build? Assist build perhaps? or go Hybrid on our smexy monkey? Or be bold enough to just go for a generic damage build and let both Ex and Assist as they are? Tell me what you think!

You can Assist Combo off of Meo-Twister's hitstun. Kuja and Seph work nicely.

Hard, yes. Impossible? Not really. Nobody said it was actually impossible, in fact there's one in the GABRANTH section of the forum that showcases a "plausible" Hybrid build, though I myself is a bit skeptical

even so i think it's best to go with Assist build,ex wont help him much

Yes EX build won't help much since even though he has jump and invincibility advantages, he won't amount to some enemies especially ground oriented characters. Assist build means more all-around for all characters.
